That depends whether you intend to connect display, keyboard and mouse
to it to control Superior Drummer. Superior is very limited when it comes
to being controlled by MIDI, like changing drum libraries and presets and such.
Playing the drums via MIDI works well, of course 😉 But without using the
GUI you would probably be limited to one fixed drum kit, once you get
your DAW to start up automatically and load a project with Superior Drummer.
Hmm, unless your DAW has some support for changing things via MIDI.

Yes. Or connect your laptop to the PA and gig with it. But you
would probably prefer an external sound card for that to
get good sound quality and low noise. It may also be
the easiest way to get a good low latency. Builtin sound
usual has a horrific latency. But again that can usually
    be remedied by using ASIO4All,

You also need a MIDI input for your laptop. An external
sound card may have one. There are small cheap USB
    MIDI interfaces around.

The sounds will only be there in your laptop and whatever you connect it to.
Superior Drummer will not be able to get new sounds into your Roland module.

    Yes, export the MIDI.
Open the groove browser and double click on ‘MY MIDIFILES’.
Drag your MIDI file into the ‘MY MIDIFILES’ folder.

Do you get sound if you click any of the drums in the
    GUI of EZdrummer?

I think that Studio One doesn’t support aftertouch but
you may want to check up on that yourself.

There does seem to be some kind of problem on PC, but not on MAC.
For me, there is a considerable risk of a crash if I first load about
2GB worth of sounds, into any number of either EZ or S2, and then
start yet another instance. I have no clue yet as to what is causing
    this.

No, our plugs do not require an internet connection.
Just get into the proper support forum and you will
    receive help.

The host can usually control the volume without the need
    to involve the plug-in.

We have no idea. We are all on our summer vacation right now.

Actually, EZDrummer (POP/ROCK) has the following levels of openness:

    Tight
    Closed
    Open 1
    Open 2
    Open 3
    Open 4

These all have their own MIDI key assigned and can be played
directly but you can also use CC-control (hihat foot pedal) to
control the level of openness and just hit the same ‘pad’
all the time. Using the latter method you can choose to
open or close your hihat at any time, ringing hits will
‘transmute’ accordingly. Using the direct method you will
have to hit one of the articulations, e.g. Closed, in order
to change the state of the hihat but ringing hits will transmute
    in this case too.

These are all played at the edge of the hihat. You also get
    bow hits:

    TightTip
    ClosedTip

that can be used in a similar manner but you have to make do
with the edge hits for the open levels.

There are two foot stomp articulations

    Pedal Closed
    Pedal Open

which correspond to chicks and splashes respectively.

There are also two articulations with recorded sequences,
though nobody seems to know what they are for 😉

All in all 12 different articulations for the hihat. The expansions
follow the same system and general MIDI mapping though
the actual number of of levels of openness may vary as
may the support for bow and bell hits.
