    Sure, EZdrummer is a fully fledged virtual instrument.
    It will play any MIDI that the hosting sequencer sends to it.
    E.g. you can construct the MIDI in the piano roll of your host
    adding note by note or drag loops in from EZdrummer or
    record from a keyboard or an e-kit. I wrote ‘or’ above but
    you can mix those approaches, of course.

    Yes Sonar can handle aftertouch. You might have to choose that
    special text only interface if you want to see and edit them, though.

    Studio 1 is problematic as a host for e-drummers since it doesn’t
    handle aftertouch(poly pressure), which is the MIDI message
    that conveys the muting to the drum sampler.
