This is not a forum we offer support in. This is an open forum for discussing
    E-drum kits in general.

If you want support for our products you have to post in the
relevant support forum. In this case http://www.toontrack.com/forum/superior-help/ .

Yes, and I thank you for your effort. I am a developer and I have read
through that page and I can tell that it is misleading. Please post
in http://www.toontrack.com/forum/superior-help/ and I can help
    you improve it.

    1. This is an open forum for discussion of e-drums in general.
If you want support for using e-drums with Toontrack products
you should post your questions in the appropriate support
forum for the Toontrack sampler in question.

    2. elgrayso, although I like that you write pages with instructions
for our software and try to help our users, I need to point out
that the instructions found in that link are far from describing
the most efficient way of using Superior Drummer. The last
part for ‘Pedal Correction’ is ok but the other stuff is not.
E.g., you can right-click to select an Articulation in the
Mapping tab or view all mapped notes for an Articulation.
No need for the cumbersome workflow you suggest.

Actually, the Surface Pro 3 is a real PC – and works well with
our plugs. The built in soundcard is a bit different than that
of most PCs, though. The speaker and head phone (line out)
outputs are separate ‘devices’. Still, it can be used with
ASIO4All. I have a small USB hub to which I have connected
my MIDI controller and an external interface (or DAC).

I still run Win8.1 on mine, so I cannot tell what Win10
works like. One of the issues is the size of the GUI.
One has to fiddle around a bit to get it into a readable size.
I hope that is better on Win10.

    >*when EZ runs in a host*, to me, means “when EZ is used as a VST plugin, in a DAW”.

    Yes.

    >Any other plugin, our looper for instance, *when working as VST* inside a DAW, *is*
    > totally and fully in sync with whatever other plugin is present as module managed by the DAW.

Yes, our plug-ins included, of course.

    >So I am not clear as to what you mean when you say that “those [MIDI sync/start/stop]
    >signals don’t make it as far as EZdrummer when it runs in a host”.

If you hook up a MIDI controller of some sort and send a MIDI start/stop with it
then that will be picked up by the DAW and possibly start/stop it. I have never
seen those MIDI messages coming in to our plug-ins. Then again maybe my
MIDI controllers don’t send MIDI start/stop. EZdrummer 2 will react to them
if they do reach it. ( in some way…)

There is something called MIDI Clock messages that devices can send
to sync to each other. Our plug-ins do not handle these. The hosting
DAW might and we follow it in turn. When running EZdrummer 2 stand alone
the start of a bar is arbitrary and the tempo is a fixed user conrollable value
ultimately under the control of the soundcards clock.

    >…whether EZ has this capability, i.e. to receive MIDI clock

No, EZdrummer will not sync to a MIDI clock.

    >…start/stop signals from another MIDI device.

Maybe. That is totally untested as far as I know. Those signals
usually don’t make it as far as EZdrummer when it runs in a host.

Start and Stop can also be controlled via CC and MidiLearn.

There is a 10 day demo for EZdrummer 2. Maybe you should try that.

Our first mapping was made for playing with a keyboard.
It is available in Superior Drummer and called ‘Superior’.
But – no – it does not put all articulations of a particular drum
next to each other. It was designed for play-ability not ease
of finding/guessing which key plays what articulation.
