Not sure what your host is but I use logic and couldn’t figure this out either. A helpful toontracker sent me a template but basically go into the mixer and route each EZD track to a different sequencer track. Works perfect for me. I’m sure someone who’s way smarter than I will explain better but that clicked for me.
good luck, I’ve gotten some great results with EZD once I figured out what I was kind of doing.
How about a thread that we can post a file name and someone will answer what it is!? Just kidding (kind of). If I wasn’t too lazy to write things down I probably wouldn’t be too lazy to program midi tracks!
Thanks for the info, though I’m still having trouble. i don’t understand the last part–I don’t see any downside to making them easier to identify. The absolute wonderfulness of EZD for my needs would only be increased by a longer or more descriptive file name since this has been a common obstacle for me. I know it would be simple to just write it down but I very often am working on the spur of the moment. A couple instances I’ve thrown a fill from a different groove in, only to never locate it again… aargh. It only gets worse as I add libraries!
Thanks for the info, I’ll try to think on this some more and then WRITE EM DOWN!

Thanks Scott, I will try to digest that…I appreciate the link as I wasn’t good at phrasing the search thru the forums.

Hi Scott,
is this still the case? Can you do any sleuthing with the file name in the upper left hand corner of the grooves?
That would sure be a great addition to future editions. I’m in the same situation where I bought a bunch of libraries and then did a kind of impromptu song that although didn’t strike me as memorable there’s one verse that the drums fit somewhere else so much better!
Desperately, could one copy that groove and then open a new project and then paste it and try to work around it? I’m using Logic 8 on a mac if that matters.
Thanks if you or anyone else can offer some help!

Thank you John,
My technique is the result of trying to do what you’ve suggested, however I haven’t enough experience to know how to overdub in a midi track yet. I swear 95% of the things I CAN do in Logic are plain dumb luck. I’m a bass player, what can I say? I’m learning as I go.
At least I know I’m aiming in the right direction! This forum’s helpful and just reading other posts has solved most of my dilemmas.
Thanks
Mark
