Alternating between forward and backward swirls on every beat

Hi-Hat on 1, 2, and 3
In the image, the long MIDI notes are forward and backward swirls, just like I want them, but they stop any time the snare is tapped. I tried moving them up to the brushTrig notes, but nothing different happened. How am I supposed to program in the swirls so that they keep going?
