Do you know how to borrow drums from other kits? There might be one in another room that you like.

That’s why kick drums are also known as bass drums and why drummers put padding inside them. Have you tried tuning them higher? My go to kick is the Roomathon in the Metal EXP, for its short note.

The nearest I can find is side stick. The graphic shows only the rim being hit, and there’s more of a click than with rimshots. F#8  is one of the mappings for it.

I don’t think it can. Tuning the floor tom higher helps keep it from ringing so much. Your DAW might let you send a tom to its own channel, where you can set a gate. I’ve not tried it.
