Is there a way to install EZD2 side by side with EZD1 so it doesn’t replace the EZD1 install? Perhaps that would alleviate the issue…There is not, I’m afraid. Part of the whole idea with the update is that it effortlessly replaces EZdrummer 1 in your projects.
If that is part of the whole idea, why does the update truly NOT effortlessly replace EZdrummer 1? If I must reassign outputs when I open old projects, that is not “effortless”. Since my older projects were created with only 8 channels of EZdrummer, I don’t need EZdrummer 2 to create new channels and cause problems. If it were truly “effortless”, the update wouldn’t create any additional work.
I am a huge fan of EZdrummer 1 and Superior Drummer 2. I have owned and used both extensively for several years. EZdrummer 1 is so good, quick and easy that it’s on many, many projects in my files, including unfinished songs and client projects. I want very much to upgrade to EZdrummer 2, but will not until the problem with existing Sonar projects is solved.
Thanks for the update, even if it was only to say that work is in progress. The new features in EZdrummer 2 are enticing, but I won’t buy it until the Sonar issue is resolved. I can’t risk opening a existing project and then find that the outputs have gone crazy. Best wishes on fixing things soon.
