I am also unable to get a totally smooth transition, but I can’t say I was able to get one using the VH-11 setting either.
My settings:
Offset – -31
Foot Splash Sens – +5
Noise Cancel – 1
CC Resolution – High
HH Note# Border – 80
I really couldn’t tell much of a difference when adjusting most of these settings, so I’m not sure they are anything to go by.
Since I use this for studio recording, I have just been dealing with any issues by manually editing the HH note and controller data in my MIDI editor.
I spend less time editing a few curves then I did deleting all of the extra HH notes. So for me, it was picking the lesser of the 2 evils.
Overall, I find the HH to be by far the weakest part of the TD-12 kit and hope future advances in technology make it a little less problematic.
I found that by setting the TD-12 HH to the VH-12 (even though I am using a VH-11) corrected the issue.
I have installed it but personally have not noticed any improvement in HH response.
I have not personally tried this but I have heard of people doing this.
Supposedly if you plug a trigger into a mic input, you’ll get spikes which can be replaced by software like DrumTracker or Drumagog.
