Clicking “go to directory” opened folder C:/ProgramData/ToonTrack/EZdrummer 3 in File Explorer. I am indeed logged on as a local administrator.
Upon checking the folder properties I noticed that on the Security tab, the permissions for ‘Users’ were ‘Read & execute’, ‘List Folder Contents’ and ‘Read’.
So I hit “Edit”, selected “Users” and put a tick next to “Write”. And now drag ‘n’ drop seems to work just fine.
No idea how this happened (I’m not in the habit of meddling in the ProgramData folder) but might be useful to note in case anyone else experiences this!
All the best
LOL you guys, same here in the UK – eagerly awaiting EZD3 with bated breath!
Worth checking out the walkthrough at https://youtu.be/xTC_Sh9A7bw while you wait. It shows the much-anticipated improvements including the grid editor and bandmate features.
Big shout-out to all the good folks at ToonTrack for producing such great software.

Thanked by: Holger Strunk and the_bear_over_thereCan’t say with absolute certainty, but most problems like this are to do with an incorrectly configured drum map.
See if this helps:
I use EZD2 and Reaper, and haven’t ever encountered this behaviour.
Does it do this playing back the sections in the EZD2 stand-alone app?
My gut tells me it’ll be something Reaper related (maybe something automation-related, or cross-fades across adjacent sections perhaps?), simply due to the sheer complexity of the software. You could also try downloading Cakewalk by BandLab (it’s SONAR but free and very capable) and see it it works as expected there. Might help isolate where the problem might be.
