Aftertouch was it. Thank you very much. I didn’t even think of aftertouch and I’m not sure how long it would’ve taken me to track that down as the problem. I recorded the MIDI tracks in ACID Pro and completely forgot it recorded aftertouch. I was using Superior 2 at the time and it apparently didn’t respond to aftertouch. But it’s worked out now, so thank you again.
Now I just have to work out the weird mapping SD3 has, then comes the hardest part of actually getting SD3 not to sound like crap.
Here’s the MIDI. It was made using SD2, so the mapping is off. Incidentally, the mapping in SD3 is kinda crazy, but anyway. Even if I move the notes to where they’re supposed to be, it still does it. Thanks for your help.
It’s a kit I cobbled together. The MIDI isn’t from a pack or groove, it’s one I played myself. It played perfectly fine with SD2, if that matters.
Ok, I just looked a little deeper and they aren’t muted, and they actually are triggering, I just couldn’t hear them. The problem is they’re really, really quiet, and only triggering a short little piece of a cymbal hit, almost like a closed high hat, but it does this no matter what cymbal I move the note too, including full open hits. Crash, china, doesn’t matter, it still only triggers the short little bit.
Any idea what could be causing that?
Yes, it seems to be just some of the cymbal notes not triggering. I don’t think they’re muted on the instrument track. How do I tell?
