Try the singer songwriter ezx for the quiet stuff. The kits have a very warm and fluffy sound.

There’s a lot of factors in play here but the first thing I’d check is the file format of the drive the library is sitting on… can you see it in the file explorer? I did have to download everything again when I made the reverse switch and I think it may have been for this reason.

Absolutely it does. In fact, I was stuck on a client project last week and the default kit dropped straight in after trying a ton of different sounds. Don’t get caught up on whether it’s up to scratch to the newer SDX – if the sounds are right for whatever you’re working on then it’s of value. It has a beautiful warm, fluffy tone to it that works so well.

I’ve been using a focusrite scarlet 2i2 for the past year, first on a PC and then on a Mac. Latency was improved incredibly when I first started using an interface on windows after using the regular onboard audio stuff. Not sure if the Alesis has usb midi out as this interface doesn’t have regular midi inputs but anything around this price point will be an improvement over what you have. You don’t have to break the bank to see a performance improvement.

That was fixed in the last update so make sure you have the latest version.

Off the top of my head I can’t think of any EZX that have those. I do know that Hansa and Fields of Rock SDX do (but that doesn’t help you).

They’re working on getting everything updated and compatible but for what its worth I’ve been using SD3 and EZD2 on an M1 Mini without a single problem.

Off the top of my head Indiependent/Folk Rock and Post-Rock all have kit sampled with mallets.

Something or nothing but Ash Soan posted some snares on his IG last week which he was documenting for an upcoming project followed up by a pic from the UK Pop sessions. UK Pop SDX? Take my money.

    Edit:

whilst we’re talking about new stuff the Gospel EZX that dropped today is fantastic. The modern Pearl kit is beautiful and exactly what I wanted. A clean, contemporary kit that can be used in a ton of genres.

This has happened to me a couple of times recently even with products that are installed and working. They disappear from the Product Manager list. To fix I just registered the serial again in PM and it shows up.
