Stories has a birch collectors that just sings and the new Drum Factory also has a DW maple Timeless Timbre. Both worth checking out.

Thanked by: drumjack52 and Scott EshlemanMy 2p – if you lean towards rock then obvs its Fields of Rock. Hitmaker is definitely on the poppier side of things and a bit cleaner. Looking at these and the newer ones they’ve dropped recently we’re kinda spoilt, right?
To OP – both foundry SDX mentioned are showing their age a little now… still great but creaking a little. I would maybe give it a day or so and see if one of the Area SDX gets put into the sale. Death and Darkness is on sale but not part of the Black Friday deals so it’s not that much off but still worth a look.

Thanked by: Vlad KuzmenkoYep, there’s some fun stuff in the percussion library that lends itself to stacking

Thanked by: Mark KingThat’s a tough call – they both play great (TD27) and hold their own against newer SDX. My only complaint about Stockholm is that the sidestick for some reason is always super low and has to be boosted. It also has a limited selection of cymbals comparatively speaking. Fields of Rock is my go to for anything in the genre (and sometimes outside of it) – I’ve finished two albums for clients this year using this one exclusively and they were so happy with the outcome. The kits go from tight to boisterous with everything in between and is almost like a core library in its depth. It gets my vote.

Thanked by: Mark KingWhilst not as versatile as some of the others mentioned for the genres you’re interested in take a look at the Stockholm SDX. Clean, dry, tight sounds that fit into all manner of tunes.
All the others mentioned in this thread are winners. Hansa is somewhat old now but is still requested by my clients regularly.

Thanked by: myronI’ve already used the Club kit on an Indie track and it sat beautifully. Some of these kicks have a real heft to them… lovely stuff. With the all the very best SDX genre really doesn’t come into. A well recorded kit is just that.
Someone correct me if I’m wrong, but if you bounce out the tracks pre-send and split the channels, it creates mono files. I know when I’ve done that for clients who want the works, it creates smaller file sizes than a post-send stereo bounce.
Just an FYI, I’m seeing the same behaviour with the tambourine in this library. It’s hitting 127 no matter what the velocity.
There’s a separate forum for this kind of stuff and I have it available – link below
