“Typically I use the audio out jack from MAC or module headphones output connected with a XLR out cable route it to the PA”

Is this cable a ‘standard’ TRS (tip-ring-sleeve) to XLR? If so, you may be attempting to connect a stereo unbalanced output to a mono balanced input which may cause some issues such as phase cancellation of the stereo signal and it definitely could sound bad.

You could try a cable that’s wired in a way to connect a stereo signal to an XLR input. The link below is for a HOSA XVM105M (Amazon has this). It is wired such that the left and right stereo signals are combined to mono and wired at the XLR so as to be unbalanced. The link has a small wiring diagram at the lower left showing the wiring. I have couple of these cables I use for video audio.

I hope I’m not misunderstanding your connections, but this what I think may be the problem.

Probably could reinstall the packs, but would rather avoid that if I could. Just don’t want to remove any packs if they are linked to EZD2 in the uninstall process.

Nope, no notifications of any updates in my spam, trash, anywhere else for my email going back to mid-April. However, the notification from ‘John’s’ reply to this thread was in my spam folder, but Bear-Faced Cow was in the regular incoming mail folder.

I’ll subscribe to ‘Forum Announcements’ and see how that works.

    Thanks……….

    If Windows….

    I found them in…….       C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Toontrack\EZDrummer\

I made a folder for each drum set and copied the PDF files to it and put the folders where I can easily find them.

The new EZX 3 Drum sets do not appear to have PDF’s that I could find and I hope they are developed. The charts are handy for those that create or edit MIDI files in a DAW.

I have a PC hard drive that can easily accommodate both the download files and the installs for both EZ Drummer 2 and 3 and for the time being I’ve left the download files where they are. What I have done however is backed up the downloads to a USB stick as well as an external drive in the event I decide to delete at some point or if the hard drive decides to fail. Also if downloads of EZ Drummer 2 are no longer available I’ll have a backup of those install files if I ever would want to use it again.

The MIDI mappings of drum kits was available through a menu selection in EX Drummer 2, “About Sound Libraries”. This doesn’t seem available in EZ Drummer 3, although most of the PDF’s of the mappings and kit instruments can be found in the folders containing the kits. The new kits available with EZ Drummer 3 do not appear to have these PDF’s for MIDI mapping. Was very handy to have in this format.
