Select the bits you want in the chorus and drag them to the ride. It sounds like you are selecting every note to the right hand side.

Thanked by: Scott EshlemanYes there is nothing assigned to tom 1. It will always play tom 2 sounds like that. Click on tom 1 and assign a sound.

Thanked by: solemndaveYou can put any drum on you want. If you choose tom 2 and want a tom 3 sound then from the drop-down you have the choice to search any instrument you want. So just choose what would be a tom 3 sound. I’m not near my computer so I can’t remember all the menu names.

So what do you want rack tom 1 to trigger? I have 5 toms. If the kit doesn’t have 5 toms then I assign the nearest size tom and then tune up or down so I do have 5 toms.

When you click on it, it triggers a full velocity 127. The first thing you should be doing is setting up the triggers on the td27 so they send 127 on a hard hit. The td27 is very forgiving with it’s internal sounds but sd3 will play with full dynamics. Also make sure you have set the usb volume correctly on the td27 as you can turn up the return.

Thanked by: Den DennieAgreed. The presets are just a starting point. I kept and modified the kick, snare and hi hat for my td50x but stripped the cymbals and toms and started from scratch. It doesn’t take long and worth the effort.

That’s odd as I’ve calibrated my hi hat once and saved a preset and never done it since.

have you chosen the preset. Also what hi hat are you using. Some modules also have an offset for a vh11 which stops at a lower cc value. Check if it’s set to 127 on the module.

If you are using a DAW then you could always normalise the files. Another option if your DAW supports it is input gain so you can gain stage. Just a couple of alternatives for ones you have already done.

I enable midi out in sd3 and record the midi in my DAW (midi track not outputting to anything so avoiding a loop) while sd3 follows the song. This is done in real time but saves messing with tempo tracks. Probably not suitable for you as I have all my midi in my DAW anyway and never in sd3. Also it only works if it’s one long audio clip/clips which is the same as in the DAW. When recorded I can then aim the midi track at sd3 and it’s perfectly in time.

Thanked by: nico.vedtsThat sounds like hard work. I put audio into my DAW where I can either quantise it or use audio warp to do multitrack alignment. If you do it in sd3 then you would have to replace all the drums for them to align. I’m sure it’s possibly but I wouldn’t want to do it this way. I use the drum replacement in sd3 but not in standalone. I use it in my DAW.

I still have my custom and vintage sd1 version. Some nice dead sounds on those. To be honest I don’t use it anymore as I like the extra articulations in sd3. I have some great recordings from sd1 and sd2. They were certainly a game changer for me.

Thanked by: James Gardiner and drumjack52Wow I’d get rid of that stuff. I think I would have asked him to build the computer, tune it for audio and leave it bare. I personally would reformat and install windows again. Goodness knows what else is on there.

Thanked by: drumjack52 and James GardinerIt may have newer features but it has nowhere near the amount of features sd3 has. I’m guessing you just mean songwriting features which I don’t use at all.
