That really does sound like a pc problem. Maybe try reseat memory, check it’s not overheating, check bios battery (I’ve been amazed the different problems a flat bios batter can cause) check the drive the library is on.
SD3 with older sdx,s plus Rooms of Hansa and Death & Darkness. Cubase and wavelab current versions. Roland TD50x using all trigger inputs for triggering SD3 only. Windows 11 computer. Various keyboards and outboard gear as well as VST instruments. Acoustic drums: Yamaha 9000 natural wood and Pearl masters. Various snare drums. RME BabyFace Pro FS and Adam A7X monitors
It is still an SDX that was released for sd3 and not sd2 so is a modern one. I use it a lot for rock music and other types of music as well, as I love the toms in darkness. The quality of sdx’s in my opinion offer more and are better quality. They also look good in sd3.

SD3 and tracker just uses the audio files to generate the midi. They are not part of the export. That is how it’s meant to be. The expected use is to either use just the midi if blend them within a DAW which is what I do. SD3 is not a DAW and doesn’t mix audio for you. It just renders the midi.

Thanks. I think the conga and bongo additions sell it to me also. I already have octobahns and roto toms with Hansa.

Hard to say as all have dry kits. Maybe try choosing by reading each expansion and what type of sounds are available. There are samples on the toontrack page for the expansions. What type of music are you playing?

I binned Norton years ago. It’s not very friendly with audio. I can’t see toontrack changing anything as it’s probably a Norton issue. I haven’t seen anyone with this issue before on here.

Thanked by: drumjack52Cubase 14 works fine with cc4 data in standard configuration. Could be that the preferences in Cubase need trashing as these can cause all sorts of strange problems. Look it up on the Cubase forum.

Agreed. The old sdx’s didn’t have the articulations that sd3 came with or newer sdx’s after sd3 release. Some are still very good and I used them when I had sd2 but for realism while playing edrums then it has to be sd3 packs and not the old sd2 packs

Try some of the premier presets. I modified one of those to use for online streaming during lockdown for our church.

Thanked by: BasseldonExactly. SD3 comes with what is called the core kits. SDX are packs you can buy with new kits. Go to the toontrack website and look at sd3 packs. There are a lot of them now. You can listen to examples of the kits and samples.

From a drummers perspective I tried bfd and the sounds are just nowhere near as realistic as sd3. Years ago before sd2 I tried bfd and a few others before I went with toontrack superior drummer. The sounds was just more realistic. These days I find bfd a bit like Steven slate. The sounds are big and bold but definitely not true to the real drum sound.

Thanked by: drumjack52On my 2nd pc I started it up and the midi interface was not ticked. I take it you have looked at that? Computers sometimes do strange things. That setting is irrelevant once in a DAW

SD3 like sd2 works fine. I’m sure sd4 will appear at some point but just creating a thread about what users would like 18 months ago has nothing to do with toontrack or when/if they will release a new version.

Thanked by: Korken and Bear-Faced CowI think you would be better to start a new thread as this is probably not related.
If you look at libraries in sd3 does it show any? Is the drive plugged in and can you browse to it? You should be able to test the td8 is sending midi by turning local off in the midi settings and looping a midi cable from midi out to midi in. If the module sounds play then the td8 is sending midi. Next is testing the midi interface. Have you selected the midi interface in the audio/midi settings and the audio interface? Can you record notes in sd3 (even if you don’t hear them) if you can then midi us getting to sd3.
