If used in a DAW I can send the midi to another instrument.
I used it when using tracker. I sent the midi out to another midi track and recorded it.

That’s not the way to do it. You are using a hi hat controller which generates foot cc messages. You need to edit these and not the note articulations. They are not relevant when using a controller that generates cc values. I use my DAW for midi so I haven’t looked at where this is in the sd3 editor.

Thanked by: Scott Eshleman and Ivan MacielSD3 is not ezdrummer 3 which is newer software than sd3. Sd3 has far more useful features than ezdrummer. Personally I would want sd3 to have a lot more time spent on the edrum implementation rather than this. I’m sure when sd4 comes out it will have the feature and even more. I can’t imagine it would be added to sd3 as most updates have been fixes or small changes.

I think you need to start a new thread for this as it’s not really related to the initial topic

Thanked by: drumjack52The td27 can act as an audio interface when put in vendor mode. First make sure you are choosing the td27 asio in sd3 setting for audio and that the td27 midi is also selected in midi settings gs.
You also should have the ability to turn up the sound on the td27 for the usb audio in (I have a td50x so I don’t know exactly what the td27 has) you also have a gain setting for the usb audio which you can turn up.
You then need to turn local off (it’s a midi setting which splits the trigger from the internal sound module of the td27) so you don’t hear the td27 sounds or have a preset in the td27 which is silent.

Thanked by: Scott EshlemanOnce you install you can click on clean up and it should then delete downloads. Try it and then go to the download location and see if it’s gone.

SD3 used in a DAW can use multiple outputs so you can mix in the DAW. A DAW is basically a studio in a box. You can record audio, use vst instruments (which sd3 is). So in Cubase I have :Piano, synth, percussion, guitar, orchestra etc virtual instruments as well as setting up a sampler tracks. You also get effect plugins and audio/midi manipulation tools. Tuning tools, timing tools. You name it and a DAW will probably have it. Reaper comes with a few of these. Cubase comes with a huge amount but obviously it costs. you can buy vsti’s for just about any instrument like sd3 is for drums.
If thinking of reaper then get along to the reaper website as I think there are lots of videos on how to use it.

I didn’t say it wouldn’t be enough but if you start using a few virtual instruments and using effects then before long it really builds up and you may regret getting a cheap pc. I wouldn’t recommend a laptop unless you specifically need one as they are more likely to have a bottleneck, which you may not be able to fix. On a desktop you can change just about anything.

Just get the PCIe ssd for now and enjoy playing.
When you say DAW it really depends on how you will use it, to how powerful your pc needs to be. Running at low latencies (which you need to do for any vsti) takes a lot of power, especially if projects are getting large. If you want a DAW to record drums only and have no interest in recording full songs and other vst instruments, then you don’t need anything too powerful. But remember once you start you may want to do more.
I work with a DAW (Cubase 13 pro) to record, produce and can still run out of steam on a three year old i9 running at 5Ghz with 32gig memory. The cost of my pc was £1800 and is not in the highest bracket (would be similar in dollars) your budget gets a low end machine even if you build it yourself.

That is a long time. I had some big kits when I was using a spinning disk drive and it would take about 45 seconds. How big are you talking about? and when loaded how many Gigabytes? It could be a file that is on a bad sector and is taking a lot of retries to load. Do you have a backup if the library? I always gave two locations for my libraries just in case. Does your computer support m.2 drives? Or maybe get a pci m.2 host card. I use two of these and the kits load in a couple of seconds.

You need the toontrack download manager. This will update sd3 and the plugin. I have Cubase 13 and sd3 both current versions with no problems. You really need to get sd3 on the current version.

If you click on any drum in sd3 you can then lower the volume on the right. You can also apply a velocity curve which again is on the right side or draw your own curve to suite your playing. What velocity values is the nitro sending? Can you change the sensitivity on the module if it is sending high velocities all the time?

The Alesis low end modules are not very good trigger units to use. Dialling them in with mesh heads is hard enough. Trying this on an acoustic kit is going to be almost impossible. Roland modules are far better but still would be hard to get good results on an acoustic kit. Best bet would be go hybrid and use a few mesh or rubber pads.

Are you using a standard kit with normal heads? If you are then it just isn’t going to trigger well. Also depends on your module which you don’t say which it is.
