I binned Norton years ago. It’s not very friendly with audio. I can’t see toontrack changing anything as it’s probably a Norton issue. I haven’t seen anyone with this issue before on here.

Thanked by: drumjack52Cubase 14 works fine with cc4 data in standard configuration. Could be that the preferences in Cubase need trashing as these can cause all sorts of strange problems. Look it up on the Cubase forum.

Agreed. The old sdx’s didn’t have the articulations that sd3 came with or newer sdx’s after sd3 release. Some are still very good and I used them when I had sd2 but for realism while playing edrums then it has to be sd3 packs and not the old sd2 packs

Try some of the premier presets. I modified one of those to use for online streaming during lockdown for our church.

Thanked by: BasseldonExactly. SD3 comes with what is called the core kits. SDX are packs you can buy with new kits. Go to the toontrack website and look at sd3 packs. There are a lot of them now. You can listen to examples of the kits and samples.

From a drummers perspective I tried bfd and the sounds are just nowhere near as realistic as sd3. Years ago before sd2 I tried bfd and a few others before I went with toontrack superior drummer. The sounds was just more realistic. These days I find bfd a bit like Steven slate. The sounds are big and bold but definitely not true to the real drum sound.

Thanked by: drumjack52On my 2nd pc I started it up and the midi interface was not ticked. I take it you have looked at that? Computers sometimes do strange things. That setting is irrelevant once in a DAW

SD3 like sd2 works fine. I’m sure sd4 will appear at some point but just creating a thread about what users would like 18 months ago has nothing to do with toontrack or when/if they will release a new version.

Thanked by: Korken and Bear-Faced CowI think you would be better to start a new thread as this is probably not related.
If you look at libraries in sd3 does it show any? Is the drive plugged in and can you browse to it? You should be able to test the td8 is sending midi by turning local off in the midi settings and looping a midi cable from midi out to midi in. If the module sounds play then the td8 is sending midi. Next is testing the midi interface. Have you selected the midi interface in the audio/midi settings and the audio interface? Can you record notes in sd3 (even if you don’t hear them) if you can then midi us getting to sd3.

If you add that then you also add latency. I can use plugins within my DAW if needed. It’s not something I would want toontrack to spend time implementing.

It will never be in sd3 as it’s not a fix or small change. Sd4 or whatever it will be called is more likely.

I’m guessing it’s only a couple of people at most as I’ve never experienced this and I would have expected many post about it if others had. Are you using at least full hd resolution?

Thankfully I have a bodhran and can play it. I’ve used it a few times in songs. I use sd3 for drums as real drums in my house are just not practical. Percussion, although loud is nowhere near as loud as drums so I tend to play the actual instruments. Obviously no use if you don’t have the instrument and can’t play it if you did.
Definitely a need for multisample percussion. Tabla would also be useful. I have a set but they need re-skinning. I did have tabla on a Roland u220 expansion card 30 years ago which were actually quite good.
Saying all that I love SD3 for the drums which are by far the best.

Thanked by: drumjack52If changing a preset then the mapping should stay the same. If you change projects then the mapping should is part of it. When loading a preset you can choose what you actually want to load. I can’t get on my computer but I think you right click on the preset and you get a list you can choose from.

Have you saved the midi map in edrum settings? Don’t change the midi mapping on the front screen of SD3
