The slider doesn’t seem to do soft hit for me, either!
I would settle for having a snare drum sounding like those on the demo’s, but no chance. I long for that ‘gunshot-crack’ snare – soft hit, hard hit, whatever hit!!!

I managed to copy a rack tom from position 2 to put into rack tom position 3 however, it also uses the same mixer channel. How do I add another mixer channel to independently control the new position rack tom 3?

Thanks again, Mac!
I have printed out your response and will take into my studio later and try – and revert back to you.
One thing I didn’t try was the top main header of ‘Default’ kits.
I just looked in these main header of kits in the Preset Selection List:
Clean Kits, Blues/Funk/Jazz, Metal/Heavy Rock, Pop/Rock, Roomy, etc., etc…..
All these are in the Library Selection List of Superior Drummer 3. So is it that there are ‘more choices’ other than the Library Selection List of Superior Drummer 3 and, my expansion packs will appear under a different Library Selection List other than Superior Drummer 3? If so, blimey, I will be inundated with kits!
Of course, I do use the Product Installer when downloading/installing all the expansion packs, etc.

Hello Mac!
I have ‘Death & Darkness’ but the kits don’t show up in my ‘Drums and Mixer Presets’ drop down from the top(?).
How do I (otherwise) import a ‘full kit’ if it’s not there?
All I see are the basic 7 kits – in various forms.
I have Rock Foundry, too!

I knew it had to be an easy solution!
Many thanks, Shootiehg!

How do I change the ‘communicating standard’?
Sorry, I’m not with this at all. I bought the 2Box Drumit3 and kept everything as it is.
I thought I select 2Box Drumit3 in SD3 and hey presto, should work!
Everything does, bar the snare rim shot.

Seems like SD3 isn’t as intelligent as I thought.
It sees the sane and snare rim as F1 and F#1 respectively.
In 2Box Drummit3, the corresponding MIDI is F2 and F#2

Yes, 14″ x 6.5″ snare.
I have ordered a Roland ‘Power-Ply’ head for this and the RT-30HR……which they show on a 14″ snare.
I play with a Pearl TruTrac ATM on my snare but the trigger sound from it is not very good, probably not very compatible with my 2Box Drummit-3
I have tried all sorts in my Superior Drummer 3 (SD3) to get the TruTrac to work properly but doesn’t. So I’m hoping these new RT-30HR triggers are going to work with the more realistic ‘Power-Ply’ heads.
I also replaced the 22″ mesh head on my kick drum with the TruTrac head – which is working really well. NO CHANCE of double bass drumming with a 22″ mesh head!

Yes, into a DW kit
Don’t know what you mean by ‘sample rates’
Where or how do I update? IF I update, will I lose any settings?
Thanks!

I downloaded Audacity software and now this is beginning to be fun!
All my snares now done – now for the whole Paiste Cymbals library – 900, 2002 & Signature series…..

1000 thanks for this!
Did you do it in Pro-Tools or similar?
I used an online converter to change everything from mp3 to .wav which includes all of Paiste cymbal sound library from their Soundroom. Zildjian don’t seem to do it for their cymbals 🙁
Two items I always ‘struggle’ with to get a nice kit are the snare and the ride cymbal.
I need to get into how you have done this as this really does open up the power of SD3 and what I can build. It’s endless!

If any of you can render this so it starts at the beginning I’d appreciate it!
The attached file is a cracking snare!
Also, can I edit this in Toontrack in the Tracker tab or something?
Work Hard, Play Harder
Agh, there’s a new question then……where can I render this file, if not using my Pro-Tools?
I know what you mean, though – need to make sure the sound wave is right at the start……!

Problem sorted!
Focusrite support sent me the new BETA driver used on the 2nd generation of the Focusrite 18i20. See here:
<<Regarding the latency issue, the best driver type to have it on is ASIO. Next to where it says “ASIO Control”, there is a box saying ASIO – if you click on this box it should open a control panel of some sort where you can adjust the buffer size. If you change the settings to be best for Recording, you should find you get lower latency. However, if you find you are still getting latency, we do have a beta version of Mix Control which installs the same driver used for the 2nd generation interfaces and this driver is lower latency in general than the one you’re using. If you want to download this, you can do from the following link: http://beta.focusrite.com/file.php?id=1334. Please be aware that the device will show up differently in your applications as Focusrite USB ASIO or similar.>>
So if anyone has the same or similar set-up from me, you can use the driver above!
Needless to say, but the sound is absolutely awesome playing SD3 through Focusrite 18i20 audio interface!
