MYG,

I’d make sure you have enabled the preset for the EFNote 5, as well as Single Choke Mode and Lower Choke Threshold.
The Efnote outputs the aftertouch at a velocity of 48 which isn’t enough to trigger SD3.
“Lower Choke Threshold” will increase the velocity to 127.
“Single Choke Mode” seems to be necessary as well, because it doesn’t look like releasing the cymbal sends another MIDI message.
So without that setting, once you grab the cymbal they will stay choked for subsequent hits.
That Single Choke Mode is what doesnt seem to work with Studio One. Not sure why, but like I said its working with other DAWs.

Thanked by: drumjack52Jack,
I am setting single choke mode in the Settings -> MIDI In/E-Drums.
I have a preset enabled (I created a 7x preset)
Below the “Use Preset” button there is a “Edit” drop down.
If you click that, you can see
Single Choke Mode (Recommended from some EAlesis and Millenium E-Kits)
and
Lower Choke Threshold.
I have both of those checked.
This works fine in the Stand alone superior app, and seems to work fine in every DAW except Studio One, so im guessing there is something in studio one that is causing the problem.
I’ll probably just stick to Cubase since it seems to be working for me.
