Cooper, give me a few minutes and I’ll be back at my music computer and I’ll go through the entire process (just to make sure I don’t miss anything) and post a response.

We all have less hair than we used to! 🙂

I use SD3 with Cubase as well as well. Make sure you are creating an “instrument track” not a midi track. When you create an instrument track Cubase will ask you what instrument you want to assign to that track. Choose Superior Drummer’ from the dropdown list and you’re good to go.
I do this everyday so if you have any other questions just let me know.

I have seen posts concerning this problem several time I had it when going from 3.14 to 3.15 and posted about it at that time. Here is the thread.

That will depend on what DAW you are using.

I don’t know what’s in here but they are free:

The process button does not activate until you tune the drum/cymbal up or down from its original pitch.

Thanked by: Rick ZanderHa! I did the same thing; trying to find the original paths to my plugins and libraries and then putting them where I thought they should go. It worked OK on some stuff and not so good on others. I did get all my user grooves in late last night (well, early this morning…) I kept putting them in the correct folder but they didn’t show up. About an hour later I finally saw the “Sync File Changes” option by clicking on the down-arrow next to “User MIDI”. Bingo! They all showed up!
I’m really a huge Toontrack fan. They just really seem they have included solutions to the problems most of us have with VSTi’s and libraries. Not to mention that SD3 sounds great…
Thanks again for your help, Jord!

Below your reply window there is an option to include “ATTACHMENTS” Using that function, use the Select files and then locate those files that you took the screen dump of and they will be sent with your post.

Thanked by: onewayout_1Playing back instruments in VSL using MIDI note events is a totally different thing than trying to sync a plugin to the tempo of your host program.
Solution #1: If you want, you can put in your own MIDI note events onto a Finale track and use them to play the sounds in the SD3 plugin. (you will want to turn off “Follow Host’ in SD3 if you do this)
Solution #2: Alternatively you can drag SD3 grooves onto a Finale track and all the MIDI notes, etc. from that Groove should be available for playing, editing, etc. in Finale. The thing is that I don’t know is if Finale has the ability to sync to another DAW (really, SD3 is just another DAW that you want to sync to your DAW-which in this case is Finale). If you use my either of my two methods, SD3 will be just a sound source for your MIDI events like VSL is now. (you will want to turn off “Follow Host’ in SD3 if you do this method as well)
Solution #3: Use Rewire to send timing data from Finale to SD3. (you will want “Follow Host” to be ON in this scenario.
From what I understand, this is a Finale issue rather than an SD3 issue. Judging from what I’ve read, Finale itself does not send the timing information to needed for SD3 (or any other plugins) to sync with it. Every other DAW I’ve worked with sends this info. It maybe that Finale started out as a notation program rather than a sequencing program.
Again, I have not used Finale since the very first version (I worked for Coda Music Software in the late 1990’s when Finale was a baby 🙂 so I’m just spitballing here and giving you a few things to try.
(I just saw that you use Digital Performer as well. SD3 should sync with that, no problem)

What version of Finale are you using? I’m not a Finale user but I just read an article saying that you need at least version 26.2Â to be compatible with Catalina.
Also, this article may help https://www.soundonsound.com/reviews/makemusic-finale-25#para4 It says that you have to user ReWire to sync VST plugins to Finale.
Again, I’m not a Finale user so these are just things you may want to try.
