Here you go. Along with the Orchestral 1 and 2 drum maps I have the SD3 Core Library and the Death and Darkness drum maps in there as well.

I have some others. If you want any others just let me know and I’ll add them to the link:

As it seems that is what you are looking for,  you are free to use full sampled rolls if you wish.

There are a number of rolls, mainly for snare and cymbals but I have used the midi from those for other instruments as well. Remember that there is more than one sample for each instrument so you’re not retriggering the same sample over and over. The rolls sound very natural to me plus they can be edited to your liking.

    I understand.

You may want to make sure that MIDI tempo detection is not in supported Logic as it is available in other DAWs. As an example, Cubase can create a tempo map from a MIDI track. I just say this in case you might want to check Logic again.

Actually, I just looked it up and Logic can detect tempo from a MIDI track.

Your DAW might be able to do that on an already recorded track. I know that Cubase Pro does.

I have  many SD3 and EZDrummer Drum Maps including many SDX’s for Cubase if that helps. If you want these just let me know and I’ll post a link for you. They are probably not transferable to other DAWS.

    BobbyHarlow:

Wow, I have never thought if that. It’s something I will definitely have to try.

Did you play with the formants of the kick drum when you did that, or did it just work as is with a bit of EQ?

For what it’s worth, I will usually use the Transient tool to just slightly shorten the ring of the toms on those vintage kits. That seems to give them more punch, at least to my ears. I seem to notice more of the attack when the ringing of the toms is shorter.

    Rick,

I would check a Logic Pro forum for your answer.

    Cooper,

    Questions:
Have you defined your midi keyboard in the Cubase device manager?

Does it show up in the inputs list of your instrument track?
