This sounds like a RAM issue to me. I would say that 16GB is the minimum for running a professional DAW these days. And, depending on what kit you are using, you may be loading 4GB or more just in drum samples with SD3. The fact that using forced cache works better for a while seems to solidify this reasoning. When you use forced cache it only loads the samples that are used and then keeps them in RAM. But as you access more drum samples the RAM footprint from SD3 grows as well which equates to using more RAM. And Logic may have a heavier RAM footprint than Studio One Pro 5 does.

Josephine,
I have the same problem as well. I checked the help menu in SD3 and in chapter 7.3.2 there’s a section called RECALL FROM LAST SELECTION which essentially says that it’s supposed to remember those settings However, it does not.
If this is a bug let’s hope it gets fixed soon.

Or how about a search function? While these forums are great for posting questions and getting answers, they’re not really useful as a reference.

Yes,. It actually quite easy. Once you have transferred your libraries over to the new drive you can just go to Settings/Libraries in SD3 and point it to the path of the libraries on the new drive.
The procedure is in chapter 9.3.3 “Libraries Settings Tab” in the SD3 Manual

Thanks, Scott! But now I’m really confused.
Above you said there were 2 DI’s (3+4) Now you say there’s only 1 DI. Do you mean 1 DI for each pick up? That was the question.
This feature is in all the Rickenbacker basses and is called Rick ‘O Sound. It is one of the most important features of that instrument and for getting the classic Ricky bass sound by allowing separate EQ and FX for each pick up.
Thanks again,
-mac

Thanks for the response, Scott!
I realize now that my question was not clear. Totally my fault.
What I was trying to say was, of the 2 DI’s, is one output for the Neck pickup and then the other for the Bridge pickup? This would be like Rick ‘O Sound.
Sorry for the confusion.

Thanked by: Greg BusbyI scoured the internet a while back and found a bunch of EZX drum maps for Cubase. I then started creating my own drum maps for the SDX’s that I own. I have posted them in my dropbox account. Feel free to use any that you want. If you find any mistakes, as I’m sure you will, please correct them and send them back to me so that I can update and share them with other Cubase users.
Let me know if you have any problems!

I had this problem when I first starting using SD3 two years ago where upon opening the grid editor everything slowed down and the playhead in SD3 would stutter, stop, and start. So, I just decided to just drag any grooves I use into Cubase Pro and edit them there. I have not tried the grid editor since but am rather surprised that the problem still exists.

Also you should also update to the latest version of SD3 which is 3.2.4.
