Did you ever notice, the first thing that some people will say is that you need a better computer? It’s strange, Toontrack says the requirements are a :64-bit Windows 7 or newer, 4 GB RAM (8 GB RAM or more recommended). macOS 10.10 or higher, Intel or Apple silicon processor, 4 GB RAM (8 GB RAM or more recommended). 64-bit host (with support for VST, AU or AAX). Standalone is included.…
Maybe it’s time for toontrack to update their system minimum requirements or to optimize their product to truly work with the specs they recommend?

I just wanted to thank you all for the outpouring of assistance with this matter. You were right. This helpful link contains the fix. I don’t know what I would do without this toontrack form.
now if only toontrack would make a more stable standalone version of their $400 product. Luckly I was able to purchase another program to solve their problem. Ableton is great, people actually write blogs for user support.

I’m still waiting for them to add proper vh-14 support for the TD-27 preset. I’m using the TD-50 preset and have the same problem you’re describing. I’ve noticed some other issues using the choke on my other cymbals. The choking isn’t consistent, it seems to work when it wants to. My cy-16rts, cy-14ct, and the digital ride all have that issue. The touch choke doesn’t seem to work at all on the digital ride

What of those terms did I violate? Just curious. I just asked if toontrack was planning an update. Then these two guys started calling me the “OP” and told me to stop complaining. I just wanted to see if anyone knew if an update was planned. The only mistake I see made was maybe the section, for that I apologize. I don’t use forms usually.

Boy, you two get pretty upset when someone wants toontrack to update their presets to fully accommodate the most popular modules and the stock pads that come with them. Do you work for toontrack?

But it already exists. You’re just not getting it. It’s there it works just not the name you want.
We’re fighting a losing battle with the OP. He wants someone else to do the simple work for him when he’s been given the way to go right here. As I wrote earlier he should just start a ticket with support if he doesn’t want to help himself. Toontrack has better things to do than fix something that’s not a deal breaker.

But I don’t want to use the td-50x preset. I want the td-27 preset to accommodate the stock pads that come with said module. The TD-27 is one of the most popular modules out there and every kit that comes with the td-27 comes with the vh-14d hi hats. A consumer shouldn’t have to contact an online form for a work around to make one of the most popular modules work with its own pads, on a product that costs a minimum of $300. The fact that you have to use a completely different preset altogether is asinine. Superior drummer 4 hasn’t been released yet, they should still update support for their presets, especially on something as popular as the td-27.

Look, some people can spend their time watching Star Trek and renaming presets on superior drummer. Others pay the money and hope the product will actually be superior and be updated for the latest and most popular modules.

I’m not sure, but the way I think about it is, why pay nearly $200 for 25gb of samples (New York). When you can get 180gb of samples for the same price (legacy of rock) . I think the size of the sdx speaks for is quality and available articulations. That’s just my guess

Hello, thanks for your help. Game mode turns off windows update, and other background activity while you’re using whatever application you choose. Airplane mode turns off all wireless connectivity to the device so I think I have those bases covered. I’ve turned off every application on start up that didn’t seem necessary.
I may not have explained things clearly.
The following examples are given using area 33 SDX with the Agrimotor preset. This one seems to have a few plugins running in it. Hence the performance issues.
At a 44100 sample rate with a 128 buffer I get 8.5 milliseconds latency. Any buffer lower then that cause Cracking and signals a cpu overload in Ableton.
At a 4800 sample rate and 128 buffer I get 7.3ms latency. Any buffer rate below that I get the aforementioned crackling and cpu overload signal.
At a 96000 sample rate I need to increase the buffer to 256. In order to avoid the crackling and cpu overload. At this I get about 6.5ms of latency.
Using these setting I’m seeing about 30% cpu usage in idle. Does all of this seem normal to you?
Generally, I have been using a 9600 sample rate at a 128 buffer. This gives me 3.8 ms latency. Which is the lowest I’ve been able to get it to work stability. I don’t have any real issue using this. Although the cpu is at about 50% at idle.
It seems like the computer can’t handle lower than a 128 buffer at any sample rate without having audio issues.
Does that sound normal given the components of my laptop or do you still believe there is something else going on? I can understand that the extra plugins running on this preset can cause cpu issues. Raising the buffer seems to solve the issue. Although it increases latency. If there is something else I can do to get a lower sample rate to work without issue with a lower buffer. I’d love to try it if it improves latency. As you can see from my explanation. 9600 seems to give me the best results. I have no idea why

I’m using an hp envy 17t cr-0000 with an intel i7 1260P processor. I have 32 gb of ram with a 1TB internal ssd drive and a 2tb external ssd drive holding Superior Drummer 3. My interface is a Universal Audio Apollo Solo with a Thunderbolt 3 connection. I’ve tried a couple different cables to make sure that’s not the issue. I’m triggering Superior Drummer 3 with my Roland TD-27 Module and my v-drum kit.
While using superior drummer 3, I turn on game mode and airplane mode. My drivers for my interface should be up to date and I believe I am using the correct one. I run Superior Drummer 3 through Ableton Lite.
Long story short, I’ve actually had this issue with two computers, brand new, the same exact model…. That’s a long story and holds no bearing to the issue. That being the case, I don’t believe it’s a hardware issue though.
When I lower the sample rate I get crackling in the audio, until I raise the buffer to a higher rate. At that point the latency is quite noticeable. 96k at a 128 buffer seem to be the sweet spot. I get about 3.8 milliseconds of latency and no crackling, except when I’m using the presets in Area 33. I can raise the buffer rate but in return the latency.
Do you have any recommendations? Thank you for your help and time!

96000 is the only thing that seems to work with my laptop and interface. Anything lower has a lot of issues with the audio and crashes the driver, unless I raise the buffer substantially. 96000 at 128 seems to be the sweet spot, except when it comes to area 33. This is a separate question but is what I just said a normal thing to happen. I thought a lower sample rate would allow for a lower buffer. That doesn’t seem to be the case with my laptop though.
