Well, the issue is that I would prefer to use my custom mapping.  After I import a groove I want to be able to to customize it and I have more articulations laid out in a more logical (for me) form than standard midi.

But I think you’re right – the midi grooves simply won’t use anything other than standard midi.

Appreciate the reply.  As I read my post, I don’t think I explained very well.

In the MidiIn/E settings, I’ve created my own user preset that maps the drums the way I like, just as though I had chosen, say the Addictive Drums map.  I make sure the “use this preset” button is on.

Then I go to the SD3 groove tab and find a groove I like.  The groove sounds perfect so I pull it into a track in Logic. But it’s hitting the notes for the default map, not my custom map.  For instance, a hi-hat hit (standard midi F#1) is hitting a snare because that’s where I’ve assigned a snare hit.

So, is there a way to get the SD3 grooves to conform to my midi remap??

Hope that makes more sense than before.

Hey John, thanks for responding.  I answered in another thread as well.    I eventually realized that I did indeed have an early version of SD3.  Once I updated to the latest version, I saw that the option to use a user mapping had been added.  All is happy now!

Hey John, thanks for responding. I was referring to bouncing a track that I had created in Logic, exported to .mid and then imported for internal bouncing within SD3.  I eventually realized that I did indeed have an early version of SD3.  Once I updated to the latest version, I saw that the option to use a user mapping had been added.  All is happy now!

I imported my Logic drum track into SD3 as a midi file.  But when I bounce, SD3 does not retain the MIDI In/E drum settings, so the hits are all on the wrong drums.

Is there a way around this?

Also, I’m only seeing two snares that have brushes. Is this correct?

Okay, I found the “all articulations” tab and some of those apparently are turned off by default.

Still I’m rather disappointed that there are no roll articulations like I have in the NY Avatar set.
