I used these notes to get the second hi-hat working.

I’m using 2 Edrumins in hi-hat levels mode. for kit pieces, select hi-hats for both. then go into your SD3, add the hi-hat, and open the Edrum/Midi window to find some open midi assignments. Select the new instrument.  Cllick to the midi-mapping box if hidden, click the lines at the top and select add note, next to the boxes for the hihat edge and tip triggers.

Adding a few of my own notes to clarify things for those who are new to this (like me).

    1. The MIDI-In/E-Drums window (settings>”…”) IS NOT the same thing as the MIDI Mapping Box on the right side of the screen. This box is much more powerful than using the midi-in/e-drums window too because it’s destructive.
      1. The Midi-In/E-Drums window will not display notes that aren’t set up
      2. So even if you add an additional hi-hat, it will not display the tip, edge, and bow triggers until they are set up and showing in the side midi-box.
      3. Like Pumpkinking’s notes state: go to the midi-box to add the triggers there FIRST, then they’ll show up in the midi-in/edrum settings window

As far as Edrumin’s you’re already speaking to the choir. I use 2x Edrummins daisy-chained.  I love these things and last week I just ordered the Edrummin 10 now that they’re back in stock 🙂

I would love this. Once created, presets are dependable, and you don’t ever need to worry about them again. I’m using project files in a tree of folders since I can have more descriptive naming conventions.

Thanks everyone for the help. I got it going. On presets with Hitmaker, I use the auxiliary snare to trigger the gong drum then panned the microphone to the left so it matches where the aux snare is and then adjusted bleed.

Thank you so much for putting this together. Much appreciated. (I agree it’s an oversight!)

Hi, I’m following this because I think it’s a good learning experience as I’m starting out. I was going to try and work along with you.

However, the file you submitted won’t open up in SD3. Curious if others have this issue. Could you try re-uploading the project file attachment?

Hi, the linked thread linked has been deleted or is no longer working. Is there another source or chart that lists which EZX’s comes from which SDX?

Hitmaker has a gong drum placed all the way on the right hand side. Kind of similar.
