    OK, so let’s hope together…

Thanks again for your efforts and your help! Props to Toontrack support!

    Dear John,

thank you, now this all makes a lot more sense. Although I would have expected to have the “choked” articulations to be the default ones, on the standard MIDI notes, not the unchoked ones. I find it way better to have consistent hat sounds (all articulations of one sound, as with a real drum set) then to be able to load different hat sound for the closed and open hats. But that is that, it’s a decision taken by the toontrack engineers, and maybe they are better matching the needs of the generic user.

One last question: Is it possible in EZDrummer to re-learn the mute group articulations to the MIDI notes f#1 and a#1, thus replace the standard “unchoked” original versions with the choked ones?

    Hi John,

thanks for your explanation. I don’t quite understand, however, why in EZDrummer as well as in SD2 and SD3, for all the natural drumsets the hihats would work fine with regard to choking, while the Number 1 Hits and Electronic EZXs fail. It seems to me that, obviously, it is possible to choke an open hihat by a closed one, so why in the world would it not work also for drum machine sounds? I would expect of such exquisitely sampled libraries as Toontrack’s, that such a simple and straightforward feature as choking will certainly work as expected, not only for natural drums, but also for drum machines.

Is there any chance to see an update to these two EZXs that fixes the choking issue?

    Hey John,

thanks for your feedback – anything new so far?
