I imagine you’re referring to guitar tone and I agree with you. As much as I like EZmix for signal chains and even some bass tones, the guitar patches, especially the high gain ones, are pretty weak. I believe they all need a decent amount of post production to sound passable

In the track FX window, highlight the effect, right click and a dialog window opens up with several options.  Rename FX instance is one of them.

    REAPER is extremely customizableFXrename

This is DAW specific, for instance, I use REAPER and you can do that, but I’m not sure about others

I have Randy’s pack, there are a lot of great signal chains for a lot of sound sources. You could put them in a chain with Bob Rock’s presets, but it may start to sound overly processed and sterile, but it’s worth a try. I think the producer’s packs in EZmix are best suited for outside or organic sound sources (ie. Vocals, mic’d guitars, DI instruments, drums, etc)

Well EZmix 1&2 combine to have 10 mastering chain presets.  They all have a very similar kind of effect (over all comp, eq, limiter, etc) and honestly they all are pretty good and will more than likely be all you need to get you there.  I have Mastering II, which obviously has a huge selection, genre specific selections, and expands more on what’s in the EZmix 1&2.  Also presets that will give you specific, non traditional masters on sections if you need that, and ones like “Mud remover” and “Bad Mix Fix” to salvage sessions that perhaps someone else mixed and you need to master.  Hope this helps
