Just bought SD3 and have this same problem with Studio One 4.6

It’s directly related to the Total Plugin Delay in Studio One.

If I have no plugins, the grid editor cursor plays back in sync on the notes. If I add a high latency plugin, like Crave EQ in Linear Phase mode with 700ms of latency, the cursor in the grid editor is 700 ms ahead of the sound. The sound is in sync, the cursor is not. Take the plugin off and we’re back in snyc.

I don’t know if this something Toontrack can fix or if it’s on Presonus but that’s what is causing this….for me anyway.

SD3 does not have any possibility to find out the total latencies before and after SD3 in the chain in the DAW, because there is no support for that in AU, VST2 and AAX plug-in formats/protocols.

Yes, I assumed it was a difficult thing to do or it would have been addressed. My work around is to just disable all FX in Studio One, which is easy to do with one button, if I need to work in the grid editor. Most of the time, I get that almost complete before getting into the heavy mixing but there’s always some drum editing to do along the way.

Other work around is just drag the midi into S1 and work on it there….although I prefer TT’s grid editor.
