I actually bought Luke’s DrumAngle course and it’s great but starts after the installing the ROland plug in phase and getting the module (td27 for me) to trigger in SD3. I can’t get any activity in SD3 whereas the eDRUMin before I had the TD27 worked. So, kind of at a loss and eager to explore everything that DrumAngle was talking about once I can even get the thing to work

I am just now today for the first time connecting the TD-27 to SD3. I downloaded the Roland driver for the Macbook Pro M2 Max running Tahoe 26.2 which apparently is TD-27 Driver Ver.1.0.2 for macOS Sonoma 14.x / Sequoia 15.x. Switched to Local Control and Vendor mode in the TD27. Connected everything, selected the map for the td27 etc in SD3 and no MIDI is making it in. Been trying for like 2 hours. If it’s this hard I’m not sure this is going to be a workflow that’s going to work. Everything worked fine with the eDRUMin before this. Any thoughts? Appreciate it

Can I use the TD-27 to connect 3 triple zone Lemon Cymbals or one Roland digital ride and 2 three zone analog Lemon cymbals and have all 3 zones be represented? Also I’d like to get 3 zones to have a bell on the digital hi hats too. Can this set up be clarified? Still new to all this. Appreciate the help.

Why has no Toontrack representative responded at all to this thread? I’m new and that’s very concerning.

I’m considering a Roland VH-14 digital hi hat with my TD-27  as well. Will this work with SD3?!

Just got SD3 about a month ago, and got my first edrum stuff before that but haven’t touched it in a while because it didn’t seem to work well with the Logic VST. I have been into Shootie’s videos and will spend more time with them as well as others like Toontrack’s own ones, but I think the thing (especially with being brand new to edrums and a longtime acoustic drummer) is to get things triggering well and getting over not having a module when watching the videos when they’re always referring to the module. I am using an eDRUMin. One tricky thing is that it  has some redundancy to some of the tools inside SD3 and I’m a little confused as to whether they work together or not. The SD3 manual does say to get things as good as possible in your module…which for me is the eDRUMin computer app I guess, so I’m guessing in SD3 any redundancy is working in tandem?? Kind of like making it better or a finishing touch? Main thing is to get my edrum kit triggering as close to real as possible. I have a Lemon center piezo dual zone mesh head snare, the RTom blackhole slip on mesh head covers with single zone trigger for tom, kick and floor, Lemon 18″ 3 zone crash/ride, Two Lemon 15″ dual zone crashes, and Lemon 12″ 2 piece 2 zone hi hat.  And using TRS cables throughout as recommended by Audiofront eDRUMin. ANd running it all into an M2 Max Macbook Pro. 32GB unified memory (ram).

At first I wasn’t getting any real triggering from the single zone piezos on the black holes, but then I realized I had them in as a dual zone. And it seems to work ok as a mono input. But I’m wondering about using a dedicated pad instead of the blackholes. They don’t seem to be great

The Lemon 18″ Ride doesn’t seem to do anything when I plug in 2 cables. Only with one cable. But I don’t get 3 zones. But I’m supposed to be able to get 3 zones from one connection I thought with Bellsense I believe(?) from the eDRUMin????

The hihats worked surprisingly well right off the bat. I have that set to not use CC but rather dedicated midi notes which is an option that the eDRUMin has. Still have to tinker more because the 2nd time tried working with everything I messed with a lot of stuff and the hi hats seemed to not be as good as the first time. Although still really not bad.

SO I tried recording a song and it seemed to work pretty well for a minute and then stopped triggering completely for like 3 seconds, then seemed to come back. Any thoughts on why that would be? Happened a couple more times too.

When I tried to put togeth a couple parts that I recorded between the stoppages today in the grid editor I had this thing happen where the row I was on where I was either copying midi notes or drawing them in would not trigger the sound that was supposed to be on that row. Yet earlier in that row the correct sounds Were in fact happening. Ate up a couple hours trying to figure out that roadblock today. Any thoughts on that would be awesome too.

Going to lock myself in the room for a long time tomorrow so I’m sure I’ll have more then. I appreciate your insights! Thank you
