Not sure what it was but just re-set everything in reaper and works fine . . . for now . . . thanks for the replies, much appreciated.

It seems a new problem has popped up. The hi-hat will work correctly when played by itself but as soon as I add in another drum or play the whole kit it starts (at seemingly random but I’m not sure) to register hits at different degrees of open, despite being fully closed and the TD27 reporting it as such in the hi-hat trigger menu. However, the hi-hat control graphic in SD3 has it erratically moving up and down from the closed position at 127.  Any help would be appreciated.

Changing the cc max in the td27 from 90 to 127 resolved the issue. Thanks!

I have done the calibration and Superior Drummer reports the cc max value as 90. Even after saving this the problem persists.

Have had no problem with the set up you are contemplating. I used a Samsung T-5 SSD . . . Snappy! Using a portable drive also allows you use sd3 on any other licensed computers you may have without having to load up the hard drive. Also, if your Mac has a disc drive, it is likely to have diminished performance running at near capacity . . . good luck!

I guess sd3 and addictive use different mapping?   If he could compare them he might be able to make adjustments in Reaper’s piano roll that would make things come out right.   Gives me a headache just thinking about it, but good luck.  That’s my shot in the dark.   You might also try the reaper forum if you haven’t already.  There are lots of power users who will reply to you there . . .

Yes by removing all of the filters except 6/8 ( I think I added “ride” too) I was able to find some usable grooves.
