Perhaps we could start a thread on the EBX that don’t have that unusable guitar buzz noise, whatever you want to call it.
That’s a good idea. Maybe those with noiseless EBX’s could let us know because right now it’s making me hesitate to buy any more. Gregory Fey noted that the Gospel EBX was better but how much? Are there still some rattles to contend with? Here’s hoping Toontrack is listening and thinking of solutions. I don’t want to have to do note-by-note surgery on tracks. Maybe it’s realistic in some cases, but so was compounding tape hiss
Really surprised there is no knob to adjust/reduce/remove fret rattle. It’s utterly distracting to the song I’m working on. Can’t imagine why it’s baked in. Seems very un-Toontrack. I’d be telling the bass player to tame that noise. Its making me wary of buying new ebxs now.
Okay, thanks for your response. Very glad you have identified the problem. Looking forward to having everything working again.
So this is Apple only I take it as I have no problems in Cubase 10.5 on a PC?
Yes, sorry I should have noted this is Superior Drummer in Cubase 10.5 on OSX Mohave.
Mohave (10.14.6), Cubase (10.5.5.1), Superior Drummer (3.1.5)
Loads fine in empty project but the moment I try to select a new SDX or EZX it crashes Cubase as well. Haven’t tried anything else but load different kit. From Crash Report looks like the same issue others are having.
I like the sound of some of the UK Pop drums – especially the towel-dampened ones. Didn’t want to waste money on an EZX if an SDX was coming out since the options in an SDX are far greater in scope. There are lots of EZXs that are different than the sounds provided with Superior Drummer, so even though you have Superior Drummer, you still might want EZX’s. It’s great that they work in both apps.
Thanks Toontrack! Shift space works perfectly for internal playback with latest update (v3.1.2).
Okay. Thanks. Thought that was only Global Shortcuts. Other key commands work fine though depending on focus, even when duplicated in DAW, like 1&2 for tools. Would be great if OPT+Space (or SHFT+space) worked for local play/pause as is my most common KC need.
*edit*
Actually all the other Shortcuts work. OPT+Space is the only one I have found so far that doesn’t, so I’m not certain that you are correct about them only supposed to work in Standalone.
Thanks! That’s the usual key but it’s so fine I didn’t think it worked when I tried it (should have moved the mouse farther), and the manual says “For fine adjustment hold down the Command key (MAC) or Control Key (PC) while dragging the slider.” (under 3.5.2 Tuning). Appreciate the help.
Nevermind. Just figured it out through the Grid Editor. If anyone else is wondering, the different articulations are triggered by velocity.
Henrik,
It looks like you may be right, I’ve played with the buffer settings in Cubase and the shorter the buffer, the closer the timings between the two. What were enormous flams at 2048 samples are now minor at 768 (the lowest I can go at this stage with this song). I do believe that is the issue, so probably no bug. Just me hearing it out of sync and being thrown off.
Thanks much for your suggestions, really helped me for where to look. Didn’t even think of this since I wasn’t actually playing a controller.
