Unfortunately my Mac is too old and I’m unable to upgrade to Mojave. It’s probably just time to get a new Mac and then I won’t have these problems due to an aging system. Thanks for all your help.
Thanks Olof. I followed your steps as advised, and lowered the security settings. Unfortunately the problem still persists. Any other suggestions?

Thanks John. I did clear the AU cache several times, and tried reinstalling the SD update, but the problem persists.
Unfortunately, the Export as audio files doesn’t trigger an actual error, it’s the bounce button isn’t functional. It responds to being clicked (changes color), but doesn’t do anything beyond that.
I’ve attached error logs for export to MIDI and saving a project from the SD plugin within GarageBand.
Thanks for any help you can provide.
I also tried exporting the song as a MIDI file to see if I could export audio files using the standalone version of SD3, but choosing that option as a plugin within GarageBand now causes it to crash (“GarageBand quit unexpectedly”).
Thanks Mark. Yes I think that is right. I’m using SD as a plug in in Garageband and the MIDI gets recorded to a GarageBand track. I thought as a plug in though I would be able to use the grid editor within GarageBand without additional steps of importing. Garageband doesn’t seem to have native MIDI export functionality. I can record the MIDI from GarageBand into SD easily enough. The only issue there is any beginning measures without drums do not get recorded and then I have to manually try to sync the track once I drop it back into GarageBand.
I’m sure there must be an easier way. I’m a novice for sure with MIDI so still much to figure out and learn!
