You mean with another instance of SD3? Or is there a wat to get SD3 to play both the normal kit and cymbal stuff with the mallets at the same time?

@Bear-Faced Cow you mean the velocity?

@MintberryCrunch Yes I had seen your post about this, thank you. I don’t believe this applies to me since I get the issue whether I use my Roland kit or just enter notes in a new midi item with my mouse. Am I right?

I have had several hi-hat issues with both EZD2 and SD3. Right now I’m having a major issue (open HH samples being heard when all there is in the midi file is closed HH notes) that is preventing me from delivering a project to a client. This is disappointing and as much as I love SD3 for its powerful features and beautiful sound, this issue is a major hurdle that I am now mentioning to anyone requesting for recommendations on virtual drum software.

    Just saying.

Ok so now the problem occurs even though I have disabled the “open pedal” articulation… I need to finish editing a project for a client and I’m stuck with this, it is very frustrating.

    Hey guys,

I am having a similar (but not identical) issue, which I’ve described here in case anyone is interested or has any clue…

Thanks everyone ! That was so easy I should have been able to find it myself. 🙂

That’s about it, except I don’t want to use the audio outside of the project, I just want to work with audio files instead of constantly triggering SD3. I want to mix as if I had recorded a real drum kit.

The “Apply take FX to items” is wonderful for that because in one click you have your audio generated, but it looks as if it’s tied to the number of outputs the plugin has. If there is a way to restrict this number to just those outputs I use, I’d love to know.

In the end I just set the 6 tracks to a stereo output and pressed record. Longer process but works fine.

Thanks for the link, will check it out for sure.

In the meantime I found what was causing the issue. I looked at the signals sent by the hihat foot pedal and I realised that the issue was the drummer… He was releasing the pressure on the pedal at the same time he was hitting the hihat during difficult breaks. Never saw someone do that before, so I didn’t even suspect it before I saw the foot pedal envelope.

Removed the unwanted envelope points, problem solved. Thanks for putting me on the right track.

Thanks, yes it makes sense that this isn’t really an EZdrummer 2 issue. Your input is helpful, I will look into the adjustments although I have no idea what this parameters actually do (Crosstalk, retrigger time and masktime) except maybe retrigger: I am guessing that increasing the time might help getting less “false positives”?

If you have a DAW, you could record into that and really see what’s happening with the midi notes via the Piano Roll

See, that’s the problem: that is exactly what I am doing but even when I delete the faulty hits altogether and recreat fresh hits with my mouse, they instantly transform into thos annoying double hits. I really don’t understand how this is possible, it’s like my MIDI editor is haunted.

I checked the web version and it was saying that I have already downloaded EZ drummer 2, which wasn’t the case.

Anyway, I didn’t have to try this because after several attempts yesterday and today it finally worked.

Actually in the meantime I had to reinstall Windows once again. So I restarted it all from scratch and I have the same problem again, except I only tried EZdrummer2 for now. So I tried what you suggested (renamed, copied and renamed the duplicate) but after resuming the download it is still doing exactly the same thing.

Thank you. It did work, and it does look hugely improved compared to the previous version.

I installed EZdrummer 2 and the 202 update. Now I see a “sound libraries update” in “my products”, and the readme file says that it updates the EZX. Does this mean that I should install first the EZX (I have Pop/rock EZX and The Classis EZX), then run the sound libraries update?
