No clue what is going on but today I open it up and once again from my preset it has switched out my settings again! This is beyond frustrating to say the least.
Mark the closets preset would have to be for the TD-50. I did exactly what you are suggesting by finding out what midi notes my module puts out. Very close to the TD-50 but the ride was most definitely the hardest to get perfect.
I did do it the way you have suggested and that worked great for making the rims on the toms splash, crash and and extra china!
Getting the 3 position ride to function as I believed it should and could was another story. Once i decided to make it a 2 zone with bow tip on the bow and bell shank on the bell all of a sudden all three zones began to work as I was hoping it would.
Like i said I do not understand how or why it now works but as soon as it did I saved it as my preset and within my daw “Reaper” as a template.
If it was possible I would most definitely be willing to share this preset as it is really amazing how well the TD-17 can perform with Superior Drummer 3.

Thanked by: Henrik EkblomHenrik not sure why but every once in a while i would get the ride to do exactly what i wanted but it would change my other setting like tom 1 rim as a splash back to a crash.
Then I would have Cymbal 1 and Rim 1 triggering the same crash. Trying to use the learn function to set Tom 1 rim back to a splash would result in the Tom 1 now becoming a cymbal.
Was really doing a lot of buggy stuff. That had me baffled beyond belief. I know the TD-17 does not have what they call positional sensing but when playing the ride it does have 3 very distinct zones.
I now have it working but to explain it to someone else I have no clue what i did to be honest. Some one really needs to do a setup video to show how to get things like this with different modules working 100% this would be a very valuable tool to anyone that has bought your products.
I have now saved this as a preset in both the stand alone as well as my DAW reaper.
