Mixing and matching across platforms is something that is definitely needed and would encourage me to buy more products – I already have a lot!
Because of the Toontrack business model which splits things into units, I never feel I’m paying too much for an individual item but once I add everything together I’m afraid it can’t be called good value for money.
Just wanted to give a quick update and say that I’ve managed to fix it.
With other VST instruments I have always had them available from main window after loading.
What I had to do this time is create a ‘new collection’, include all available plugins and name it something appropriate. This newly named selection now appears in the instrument window – including ezd2!
Thanks for input, always appreciated. John
Hi Patrik,
Thanks for your input and suggestion. I changed the installation path after uninstalling and the new path (E) is as far down the chain as I could get for ezd2. That said, the path it shows in the vst tab is perfect (ezd.dll) and this matches the path in the standalone which shows, as you say, through help.
I am beginning to think this is a problem with cubase. I downloaded waves Grand Rhapsody last night and I have EXACTLY the same issue – shows up in vst list but not available in instrument track. It also plays perfectly as a standalone. Now that i am looking for the problem I notice that HALion Sonic that I got last month also doesn’t show in track availability but (I guess as it’s a steinberg product) I can get it from the media bay. Frustrating!
Hi John,
I tried your suggestion but unfortunately it didn’t resolve issue.
Following the principle of starting again, I uninstalled and reinstalled everything, changing the drive but unfortunately with the same result. Cubase has the VST instrument listed with associated dll file (see on attachment towards the bottom) but it does not recognize it as a legitimate VST to select when tracking (see list to the right – Cubase has Instrument tracks with selection options but list doesn’t show EZD.
Hmmm
Hi John,
Thanks for replying.
I had thought of that too and can confirm there is no Toontrack item on the ‘blacklist’. These are predominantly 32 bit plugins (32 bit not supported on cubase 9.5) and I specifically only loaded EZD2 64 bit for that reason. Did another check for certainty just now and definitely nothing there..
