Well, it’s been nice talking to myself. I will check back.
I am assuming that everything will be fine if I move the whole folder to the one I created on my samples drive. I already added it to EZkeys. I’ll add it to EZD2 but if I understand correctly, I will not be able to move the packs that I have for EZmix. I assume this because the folder looks like the folder for EZdrummer 1 which, from what I read will not work if I mice the folder. It isn’t that big anyway, but if I can move the packs for EZmix, someone please let me know. I do not want to use junction points because I don’t really understand the process and don’t want to mess with the registry unless I need to.
Thanks,
J
OK… I think I “get it”. I install everything to the folder I mentioned then I drag/drop it to my samples drive. That begs one more question.. do I have to do this with any new midi or pack that I might buy? DL and install it to the above mentioned folder then move it again? How will that work? Will the folders merge when/if I move another folder of the same name from C to E drive?
Thanks,
This is harder than it has to be but it is that way with a lot of other stuff too. I am learning though.

Anyone?? I have EZDrummer, EZMix, and finally EZKeys installed but when I try to install a midi pack the only option I get is C:Program Files (x86)Common FilesToontrackEZkeys.
I added another folder on my Samples drive to the browser but I cannot figure out how to get the midi files there instead of on my C drive..
I know this refers to EZkeys but it is just the first midi I tried to install, I have EZdrummer packs and midi to install and I figure they will al be the same. They are all (hopefully) going on my Samples drive.. If not then I’ll be done with the EZ line.. I need some help.
Lost… thanks,
Julien
Never mind. I added a question but then when I looked at it I saw the answer… sorry and thanks!
Got it done. There was a missing file. I had to delete, and unzip again. Thanks! I will try and do a screenshot tomorrow if I have any more problems.

Please do not confuse Authorization of a new installation with the Registration of a new purchase.
If you can access your Toontrack account and view your purchased/registered products,
you can download the EZD2 installer. After downloading & installing EZD2, open the product (in standalone mode or as a plugin),
the Authorization prompt should lead you through the rest of the process on the new computer.
No, they are old purchases I want to add to a new computer. As I just added above, I was able to download and install EZMix but I cannot seem to download EZD2, am trying to DL the EZD2 update. I tried burning it to a CD-R but it said that I have to have a functioning copy of EZD2 on the computer, since it is greyed out I cannot download it. I don’t know what to do. Of the four boxes that I suppose are authorizations, only two are checked. Do I need to download an authorization first? Still confused.

Thanks… Got it!!
I had everything installed just not everything in the right place and pointed right and added…whew.
I moved TT106WIN to C:Program FilesVstPluginsToontrack64bit as Scott advised, then added C:program filesvstplugins to the folders to be scanned. I had to add Toontrack64bit to C:program filesvstplugins.
I opened a project in X1E and opened Preferences and opened Cakewalk plugin manager x-64, opened VST instruments, highlighted EZDrummer and hit ADD.
That did it, now EZD 64bit is available in the right place (VSTplugins) in the browser synth rack and it is simply EZDrummer and it works!! Now I just have to remember where to put expansion packs but that shouldn’t be a problem… heh.
Thanks all.
Julien
Thanks Scott.
I am going to copy/paste your instructions to my notepad for easy access and with your permission… if I run across someone having trouble on the Cakewalk forum I will repost this with credit to you. I don’t know if they will allow a hyperlink but I will mention I got it off the Toontrack forum from Scott in MA… if it is OK with you. Also, I am emailing a blow by blow acount of what I am doing and what the result is to Dave at gatortrax. I think he is interested in what a newbie is experiencing, he has a pretty good thread on installing and using EZDrummer. I don’t know the URL but you can google gatortrax recording forum, erwise you’ll get all terrain vhicles. He has a lot of in depth infor on the mixer and on everything about how to use EZDrummer.
Thanks and let me know if you object to me sharing this post.

Thanks Spudler.
I am using Windows 7 64bit and Sonar X1Expanded with the latest hotfix.
I think I am alomst there. I just think I misstepped somewhere along the line. I am going to uninstall once again and start over following Scott’s instructions, I WILL be sure to come back and post my results. I did unstall the 32 bit then came back and got the 64 bit, so that I have both 32 and 64 SOLOs on my desktop. I think I missed the step Scott missed (thanks Scott) about getting the onscreen instructions and ended up with it installed but in a weird way.
I’ll try again today.
Thanks guys and thanks for understanding. I’ll be 60yo next month and I think I am lucky to know what I do abouth computers… some of my education came from having to deal with malware that I got with a wandering mouse. I became an expert for a while with hijackthis and malwarebytes.. but I can’t seem to simply install a program. I am terrified that I will get it installed then have to learn to use it… laff. It is so much easier to plug a cord into my amp and hit the switches and go deaf…

you have to change the VST path to look for the 64 bit .dll which on my laptop when I was testing it was loacated under Program files/Cakewalk/VSTplugins/64bit.
Once you get the correct path set it shoudl work fine.
I will try searching for that and if I find it I will add it to the places to be scanned for VSTs.

The thingis this…. if I was changing pickups in my guitar or fixing a leaky faucet it would be no problem. My problem is that you can answer and I stlll dont get it. I really need an explaiation fro dummies aussuming I know nothing because I know very little… the transition from pool and pinball to nintendo was over my head.
I am still confused. I apologize and I know that some don’t understand what is s hard for me but take my word for it… I don’t yet understand… I will stay at until I do but I ain’t there yet.
I appreciate any help, you have to understand I don’t get it and am becomiing really frustrated. I haven’t spent all day on this but I have spent part of 4 or 5 days on it, I am tired and discouraged.
Thanks…
Julien
OK, I have downloaded and updatd to 64 bit however in my DAW synth list (Sonar X1) EZDrummer is still listed as TT106win>install>program files>Toontrack>EZDrummer. It is like a tree I have to select one to get to the next, then finally to EZDrummer which, when I click, will open.. this seems wrong. Did I do something srong along the way.
When I installed the 64bit version I chose Cprogram filesToontrack
Thanks,
Julien
I went ahead and tried to install, I tried to change to pathway to Cprogram filesToontrack and the media to Cprogram filescakewalkVSTfolder. It would not change to that but would add (x86). IT did allow me to choose cakewalk VSTfolder. Then when I tried to install I got a bunchof 1309 error message boxes.
OK, I think I found the answer to the 1309 errors, I am extracting all now. Then will install again. Will try again.
I have never had so much trouble with a product. It is ver 131 or 1.3.1
