I am going to take a guess, based on a quick paythrough. So I may be wrong.
When you drag the midi file into “chords” Bandmate, it will assign a key and interprete the chords. It will take your midi file and put that in “Source”. Then it will attempt to find the best match midi groove and put that in “Keys”. If the Key assignment was incorrect you can change it – upper left under Key. The groove will change based on the key, but the chords do not change. So any thing you now pull down to the timeline should maintain the Key you have assigned and the original chords Bandmate assigned.
At least, that is what I am seeing.
There are dozens of “effects” and pre-sets to choose from. Can you point to one of these examples to illustrate what you are hearing?
Sounds like you have a very discriminating ear. It is both a blessing and a curse. I have not yet focused on the sound and it is likely my ear will be less sensitive. But that is part of the reason we all have so many piano VSTi’s . I will follow this tread and get back to you on this topic after a bit.

Thanked by: MarcinOK, now we have to wait for Shootie to show us how to do this… I am sure it won’t be long.
BTW, it may be time to move all the Toontrack Libraries off of the boot drive. Will it be just “copy and paste”?
Oh my, I hope not. A lot of folks are counting on EZKeys 2.0 or maybe just EZkeys 3.0 – Superior Keys! I don’t think I can handle a disappointment like that. There are a number of forums blowing up on this…
Toontracks Face book has been trackting a 4/3/23 release date. From Chicago that is ~ 5 hours.
Oh, there has been a lot of rumbling in the various music forums. Could be EZKeys 2.0 OR…. Could be a new subscription service where you can get a Key to open the door to ALL of Toontrack offerings for one monthly charge.
Use the Sissor icon to split out a bar for as many chords as you like. Here is 8 chords in 1 Bar.

Thanked by: Mark PetersIs there a way that EZ Keys will embellish upon a single note melody and sort of play around with it? I’m no keyboard player. I guess I could do that in BIAB and just put those midi files into EZ.
Well yes and no. EZKeys simply follows the chord chart. It will not compose a melody. EZkeys needs the chords. But if you have the chords you can select a playing style and background from the avialable midi libraries, which will harmonically support/enhance the melody. Does that help?
Shootie, this is MusicStudent. I follow you on you site and saw this a couple weeks ago as soon as you put it up. I was going to blast you with a claim of false advertizing, but then I calmed down. I respect what you do on the site so I thought best to just wait and see…. I am still waiting. But I do appreciate the postitive thinking.
Could it just be as simple as no one is...Could it just be as simple as no one is asking for it? Then let me be the first.
Tell us all please, that a EZKeys2 is on the drawing board and set for release in xxx/2016.
You know what I am asking for. Like you did with EZDrummer – EZDrummer2. Well, it doesn’t have to be that spectacular! But some thing to show commitment and maturity for this lovely program.
At a minimum can we at lease talk about it? This forum is soooo slow. Perhaps this could be a new level of life and pay off in dividends to the company bottom line.
Maybe if I say – Please and Thank you.

Seven (7) year anniversary of opening this tread. Who would have guessed that nothing would have changed in all that time. Jazzmandan the OP, is no longer with us, as well as lots of other folks who are gone over the past 7 years.
Based on past performance, making a change to EZKeys is virtually impossible. EZKeys is over 10 years old and still on Version 1! The only sub 1.0.0 changes in all those years were implemented based on human health and safety to the public. No new Features have ever been added. You have heard the expression, “…when hell freezes over?” That is when to expect a change. (… all said with a big smile)

Thanked by: Brian_48This UJAM product popped up months ago (maybe last xmas). Fun to play with, but on release that was all it was. Has some significant limitations. More of a toy than a tool. Try the free version but look careful at what you can do and can not do. Maybe they have upgraded it to a newer version with more features?? Can’t tell from the ads.
“They are still a relatively small company and as such have limited resources.”
5M Annual Sales with 26 employee’s. While I don’t know if that is USD or Sweden currency, I would agree this is a much smaller company than I ever would have thought. I suspect they have the majority of staff with their heads in drums.
And regarding EZKeys not working. I just tried to open it and plain white screen only. Very unusual. I immediately rebooted and all was fine. Still very unusual.
