Actually I am logged in and have access to the forum. However I couldn’t navigate to the link location. Moot point since I can find what I need for note assignments locally.
Now ….my other questions – I’ll start another thread.

I’m a drummer that reads and R. Goble is mostly correct
You’ll see that slash used on longer note values for a roll, sustained the length of the note using bounced strokes.
However it isn’t always used to play two notes (LL).
It can be an indeterminate amount of notes that are produced by buzzing or pressing on a snare.
I’m still learning SD3 but you can use the snare “ruff” articulation to get that sound
