Thanks for the sailing session Jord and you’re right, I’m not having a go at the MDI per se. I just assumed that as it’s pretty clear what groove the team were going for then I wonder is their any reason they didn’t nail it?
Hi guys ! Just purchased the legacy of rock sdx, really exited to try it out. Unfortunately I don’t have enough storage space , so I’m downloading it to an external drive. How should I tell sd3 to find it? Is it possible to work inside the plugin in my daw with the new library available in the external drive? Tnx! Really loving sd3
You tell SD3 where you moved the files to – google it and you’ll see loads of tips and videos how to do it. Make sure you do it in the DAW version as well or it won’t work in there.
BTW the Rose and Anna (sic) grooves can be found in the AOR Rock library – but there’s something not quite right about them – I think probably the ghost notes on the snare are a bit too loud
The Rosanna groove can be found in one of the “yacht rock“ MIDI packs. I forget which one, but it is there.
The only real problem I find with third-party midi packs are that they are in general midi format. Thus, they lack articulations that are key to bring up the characteristics of the groove.

True, but personally part of the fun of putting a drum beat together for me when I can’t drop one one in that fits is to make it sound like JP recorded it in ’83.
And, forgive my landlubber-itis but what is Yacht Rock?
you know you can use any MIDI with any set of drums in EZD or SD3 right? If you have anything like the groove you’re looking for just load that up with your percussion set – even easier in SD3 of course but in EZD you can set the power hand and what sounds will play.
Ashley I had exactly this issue when SD3 in Logic couldn’t see the sound files for SD3 on an external drive. Did you, as you said, literally just install SD3 and try to open in Logic – if so did you install all the sound files as well?
You posted this in the EZKeys forum Jeff, may want to move it for better response, but have you opened up the Toontrack Product Manager – there were updates to EZBass posted yesterday.
On a real bass it is not the same and that was the point. This was not about graphics.
Now kindly stop trolling my posts
And you know what – if you had a REAL Fender Precision in your lap I would agree with you – but you don’t, it’s a MIDI library and the E1 sounds trigger the same E1 sound file: Not E1 on the open E string or E1 at 5th fret on the B string. Just E1. So the only reason you would want to play E1 on the B string is so it looked different on the screen – it won’t sound any different.
And don’t worry – your posts aren’t so electric that I’m surfing the forums looking for them (heaven forbid!) – but as I said (if you are capable of reading posts and not projecting your own words into them) I said this had been discussed Ad Nauseam before so just wanted to clear it up in this post as well.
I’m sorry you don’t like people responding to your posts. Maybe take a break if it’s upsetting you so much.
Sigh.
Did you look at the date of the first post and read the content?
This is not about graphics, it is about the actual sound which differs depending on using an open string for example open A or A fret on E string.
Sigh – OMG Phil why don’t you quit the Toontrack forums and join an Adobe one instead.
Of course – since you’re so worried about the look of your virtual base you have’t listened to the notes to know that sound of an A on the open A string is the same as the on the 5th fret of the E string yet…
This thread has been discussed ad nauseam before – and since the sounds are all the same – on the open E string or the B string 5th fret there’s no point worrying about which graphic the program chooses to show you which note you’re on.
Rude?!? And not sure what you mean by conformational – care to elaborate? Geez Phil, if you think my response was rude I hope you never provoke anyone into really throwing something rude at you. My apologies for rattling your senses but since the whole point of EZbass is to make music, not art, I don’t understand what you’re so rattled about.
Ok – not sure why a suggestion how you can scratch your graphic itch was taken so badly but so be it.
