Would it be possible to annotate the download button with the version number, so at least a comparison can be made with the user’s present version number John?
I came back here to ask the same… 😉 It would be VERY convenient if you could see what version is for download online…!!!
Ok, I found the solution. Maybe this may help others in the future.
I installed EXDrummer and then installed the update (first the 32bit update and then the 64bit update). EZDrummer still didn’t ask to be authorized and there still weren’t any sounds loaded.
So I decided to have a look at my Vstplugins folder to see what happened there when I install the 64bit update again. I saw the ezdrummer.dll and when I ran the 64 bit installer I didn’t see anything change. Nevertheless I loaded EZD again but still nothing. So I decided to completely REMOVE the dll from the Vstplugins folder. After running the 64 bit updates again a new dll was placed in the Vstplugins folder. Same creation date and everything but it clearly was a new one. I loaded EZD and I was IMMEDIATELY asked to autorize the software! After doing so, without any problems, the sounds loaded!
So… apparently somehow the 64 bit updater somehow wasn’t able to overwrite the 32 bit dll… and I was loading that 32 bit dll into my DAW! (I also noticed it had a bar above the interface that I normally didn’t have and that was gone when I finally loaded the 64 bit version). Odd but I am glad everything works now.
I installed the full product from the dvd. But as you suggested in my other topic, I should use the full installer from the site instead. I will do that now and report back if that solved my problem.
Ah, ok… so the full product installers are the newest version and only if there are any updates for THOSE installers, they will be shown online. I get it. Ok, I will download them all now! Thanks for the reply!
Ah, ok, thanks, understood… I thought you had 4 authorizations options, period, but you have 4 authorization possibilities before you can’t authorize anymore at all, and you can only have 2 of those 4 active at any given time. Got it. At last. I will remove the ones I made last weekend.
Sorry for not understanding it sooner…
EDIT
Just authorized EZD again: worked perfectly. And I noticed I didn’t need to re-authorize the drumkits! Apparently those authorizations are less sensitive to changes.
And I also noticed that all the information about 4 and 2 authorizations can all be read in the mails you get when you authorize something… Stupid me… Some people just don’t read well…
Ok, thanks, cool! I will keep things as they are now so I will authorize for this state. Thanks for already deleting the old inactive one! On the site I only saw two green active authorizations, so I thought that was the limit, but I see now it says ‘Total authorizations: 2/4’. Great. But er… (stupid question, maybe: I feel a ‘Duh….-moment’ coming… ) I see no ‘Add authorization button’ or something like that… How can I get to authorization option 3…?
BTW Awesome support! Never expected such a quick reaction at that time of day!!!
Hm, that could well be… Yesterday I overclocked my pc and I disabled the JBMicron controller in the BIOS. I think I already disabled the onboard soundcard but maybe I also did that yesterday… Bummer… Didn’t think that would influence this, but that could well be it!
What’s the best thing to do? If I remove the authorization I lose a retry, so to speak, right? My drumkits (I’ve got four) all have their maximum off 2 authorizations, if I’m not mistaken, and EZDrummer itself has got one left out of four, I think. What’s wise…? Remove authorization and ask for some sort of reset when I can’t authorize everything anymore or should I ask for some sort of reset now…? I haven’t been in this situation before, so I don’t know what to do.
Right now I’ve got two authorizations I’d like to keep, for my old pc and my new one.
Oops, I see I posted it in the wrong forum. Sorry about that. But er… when I go to the EZDrummer DAW forum, I don’t see my topic there…? I can only reach it from the main page (because this currently is the newest post)…?
EDIT:
O, I see, this subforum defaults to an order of topics instead of last posts… Weird… Is that intentional?
First of all, turn Snap on and make sure it’s set to Quarter (so it will work with fills of any length) and Move to (in case you add a fill before you turn Snap on: this will make sure that the clips will be alligned well after turning Snap on).
Now here we have a ‘song’ with EZD-grooves. (Notice how the clips don’t fill up the entire bars, but that’s normal: the clip simply ‘stops’ where the last hit is and everything will sound perfectly fine, as long as the left side of the clip alligns to the grid! This will also be the case with the fills you will be adding.)
We would like to add a fill in bar 4.
Here is how to add a 1/4 (one beat) fill.
I’ve positioned the Now time where the 1/4 fill has to start (you don’t have to do that: I just did it to make it clear what I am doing), which ALWAYS is at the 4th beat of the bar:
Now drag the right side of the clip to where the marker is to make space for the 1/4 fill:
Now drag the 1/4 fill into the project: point the mouse to where the marker is (in this picture anyway) and let go. The fill will be positioned at the exact right spot:
Here is how to add a 2/4 (two beat) fill.
I’ve positioned the Now time where the 2/4 fill has to start, which ALWAYS is at the 3rd beat of the bar:
Now drag the right side of the clip to where the marker is to make space for the 2/4 fill:
Now drag the 2/4 fill into the project: point the mouse to where the marker is (in this picture anyway) and let go. The fill will be positioned at the exact right spot:
Here is how to add a 4/4 (four beat, one bar) fill.
I’ve positioned the Now time where the 4/4 fill has to start, which ALWAYS is at the 1st beat of the bar:
Since a 4/4 fill will fill a complete bar, you don’t have to drag the right side of the clip, but you can delete it completely:
Now drag the 4/4 fill into the project: point the mouse to where the marker is (in this picture anyway) and let go. The fill will be positioned at the exact right spot:
That’s it! This way you simply can’t go wrong and timing will always be right. Of course certain fills might not fit musically, but as far as timing is concerned, it will be spot on every time.
Hm, you guys really know how to make something simple sound complicated… 😉
EDIT:
See my post below! (A picture paints a thousand words, so… 😉 )
