I have a TD-12 Roland brain and a VH-11 hi-hat. Even when setting MIDI to the Roland preset the hi-hat is always “open.” The TD-12 hi-hat footpedal sends a CC16 MIDI message to SD3, as seen in the MIDI monitor. I can see in the preferences that the SD3 Hi-Hat is looking for a CC4 value. I assume that this is the problem?
Is there a way to change the SD3 hi-hat CC to CC16 instead of CC4 (the learn function is grayed out when editing the hi-hat CC properties)? (There doesn’t seem to be a way to edit the CC output in the TD-12 itself)
See if this video helps. It worked for me.
I run a TD-20 with midi thru into a TD-3 and then into the computer. I did have to change a number of midi settings on the TD-3 to prevent duplication of midi notes. It’s a bit cumbersome, but you only have to do it once. This way I get a boatload of additional trigger inputs.
Overly complex. I can remove a mapped midi note as John pointed out, which was massively unclear without his help. I don’t see any option to remove a mapped note in the global midi settings window though.
So as a man of my word…I went out and got the S2 upgrade. Bah!
Cmon guys, for EZ 3 you must add midi learn support, it’s standard.
