Thanks for reaching back to me John,
The problem still occur with the vst2 (I usually use the VST3 version).

Firstly, the problem doesn’t occur when you have a fresh new ableton live project.
I mean, when I first open a superior drummer vst on a track and drag and drop midi
    -> It works !
But when the projects gets bigger (around 20 tracks or so), after saving and restarting ableton live, the drag and drop feature of toontrack superior drummer will just freeze my DAW, I have to stop the process of Ableton Live 11 in the task manager of windows.
As for the logs for ableton, I don’t have anything related to the bug as ableton just freeze and don’t write any information about it.

I tried to deactivate the UAC windows security as followed :
    https://forum.ableton.com/viewtopic.php?t=124669#p1035834

I followed this guy instruction for ableton live fix for drag and drop :

So I launched ableton live with administrator privileges (Right click, Execute as Administrator), same problem !
(I even tried to launch as a compatibility for Windows 8 checkbox, nothing changed)

So you say that it might be the “temp file” ? What should I do then ?

Is there someone that test your products on Windows ?
Maybe I should do something in the registry of windows ? Or I don’t know it’s getting way too technical for me for a simple feature (but trivial) of drag and drop midi files.
Every other plugin I have on my project works perfectly except this one.

    It happened to me also.
    With ableton live.
I’ve done the  uncheck of : Settings > General > Show Played Note Information

    It works now !

    Thank you Petter
