The thing is many people like the Gui as it is (dark) and that is fine, but many people also have big problems with it (can hardly use the software).

This has been recognized by many of the top software companies in the industry and they provide the options for the user to select/configure the Gui for what is best for them.

Just to assume that just because someone like the Gui as it is and don’t have have any problems with it and therefore think it should also be fine for everyone is a very limiting view.

People who like the Gui as it is should of course be able to keep it selected as dark as now, but for people having big problems with it they need an option to select a light Gui.

As for the comment above with me not doing my homework, I just assumed Toontrack was a modern company keeping in track with usability issues as many of the top software companies in the industry.

This is a big issue in general and receives many user comments for products not having the flexibility to configure the theme for their Gui.

    (How hard can it be?)

    Hello,

Ignore this one. It can be removed!

    it works fine.

I just forgot that I have to transpose the midi +1 okt when using EZBass (a bit annoying since that is not necessary in most other software like Studio One, Reaper, GP8 etc). It is easy to forget.

Regarding the e-mail it works fine, I did receive the e-mails ok for this posting.

So where do I put in a feature request?

Yes I have linked the 3rd party midi packs to EZD. It works fine I can use them all and I can browse through them all.

What I am trying to do is also to be able to use them with BandMate when trying to find a match to songs that I have dropped into BandMate.

The problem is that the suggested matches from BandMate seems only to be selected from “Genre” ie my 3rd party midi will not be included since the “Genre” attribute is not set for it. So I am wondering if there is a way to include the 3rd party midi in the BandMate matching feature.

The genre filter and play style filters work fine with all the Toonetrack midi drum packs.

The problem is only when I am using a 3rd part midi drum pack. They are not categorised by EZdrummer3 in genre or play styles. The other filters seem to work well ie the type, signature and power hand filters.

Since I want to use my 3rd party drum midi packs as well (not only the Toonetrack midi packs) when trying to match a drum beat with BandMate this is a BIG problem since no items from the 3rd party midi packs are shown in the “Matching list” this is since the matchng list filters on “Genre” and the 3rd party midi packs are not picked up by genre.

So my quistion is, is there a way to manually assign a “genre” to the 3rd party midi drum patterns?

I must have missed this before.

I just discovered that in EZBass 1.1.8 it now works fine to drag over the midi and chords directly from EZKeys2 into EZBass. Very practical and user friendly.

As long as one have both EZKeys2 and EZBass open it works just fine.

Having different EZKeys2 midi files to work on in EZBass, one just have to load them into EZKeeys2 first then drag them over to EZBass.

    Thanks.

This now seems to be fixed in EZKeys 2.04.

Loading time 3 tracks EXKeys 2.04 in StudioOne is now ca 5 sec (before 19+ sec).

It takes the same time to load if I close the project and re-open it.

So I guess virtual memory is ok.

    Hi,

this is what it looks like for me when loading your Project:
    Screenshot-2023-12-10-at-17.59.15
    Screenshot-2023-12-10-at-17.59.22

So while EZkeys 2 takes longer time to load than EZbass and EZdrummer 3, it’s still pretty fast given that library samples are loaded into RAM.
If you have fewer instances of the plug-ins active in your project, it should load faster but it’s still a big difference between our systems.

I would have to ask my colleagues for more input here.

    BR,
    John

    Hello John,

You avarage loading times for EZKeys2 are very good (2.382 sec) compared to mine (9.951 sec).

What is your PC configuration? Can you see anything specific in mine configuration that could explain the problem?

    PC config attached.

Yes, I have tested various combinations from 1 to 8 cores in the settings for EZKeys2 it makes no difference.

I have now made some more analyzes with ProcessExplorer.

It seems that the CPU hits the roof – 100% load when EZKeys2 is loading (and only then, the rest of the time it is very moderate usage).

That would explain why it hangs but I don’t know what my cause the problem. (it looks like a software problem) or could it be a configuration issue.

I only moved the sound banks to the 2nd SSD but there were no difference in performance so I have moved them back.

I think I rest with this for a while I am not getting anywhere and I have no more ideas.

But it is good to know that Studio One users with EZKeys2 have much better performance than me. So there must be a solution.

I already have Windows and all software including sound banks installed on a new SSD drive 2TB. The measurements above is from that setup. I am now thinking of moving either the all of the Toontrack software including sound banks over from this SSD to a 2nd SSD drive. I got the feeling that something is clashing and is locking something out.

That is good news.  It is 4 times faster for  EZKeys2 than on my setup. 4,7 sek vs 19 sek.

I just wonder what could be the problem?

I have a pretty good hardware setup so it should not be any problems.

I wonder if it is any configuration details that I have missed. I haven’t seen anything in EZKeys or Studio One that seems related to this and that is configurable and I have’t changed anythings in Windows 11.

I have put in a second SSD drive.

I might try and install the Toontrack software onto that drive if the Installation Manager lets me (but I am not sure that I can control were every part of the software sound banks are stored)

Well that was very interesting 4,2 sek compared to mine 19 sek to load EZKeys into Studio One.

But it is good news it probably means that there is a fix for it.

I will put in a second SSD and move over all Toonetrack software to that.
