Just wanted to chime in as another long-time SD2 owner who’s hit the same wall after upgrading to a new Mac (Apple Silicon, macOS 15).
Superior Drummer 2 technically still “shows up” in Logic, but it’s basically dead — just an empty shell. Toontrack Solo still loads it, but that’s not a real workflow. The core engine simply can’t run anymore because of Apple’s newer system security and architecture.
I get that SD3 is more advanced, but here’s the thing: many of us invested a lot into SD2 and EZX packs, and we’ve been loyal to Toontrack for years. It would mean a lot if Toontrack considered a free or low-cost crossgrade for existing SD2 owners — not as a “new feature” upgrade, but as a fair way to keep our past investments usable on current systems.
Feels like a perfect chance for Toontrack to show some love to the long-timers and make sure our old sessions don’t die with our old Macs.
