Hi Scott,
Yes that’s the one. Toontrack charged me $259 USD ($340.94 CAD for me)
Thomann’s regular price is $240 CAD.
A forum member noted this is not a sale price and has been in effect for at least 2 years.
I’m not asking for an undercut. $100 as a lot of money to overpay in my fiscal world.
If it was just a tiny bit more from Toontrack I wouldn’t be complaining.
Please have some mercy on a newbie.
I’m just finding out now your products are sold elsewhere.
It’s software, I didn’t even think that you had other people selling for you. It’s not a physical product.
I’m new to the (digital) recording world.
I’m still trying to speak to support with that link you sent me.
Thanks!
Gary
The Toontrack Website gives me (here in Canada) USD prices only
The Thomann site gives me CAD and Euros (sensing my location?)
PS
Toontrack charges in USD as you know
I pay 30% more converting USD to CAD.
Thomann seems to adjust for that.
Thanks
Hello Tim,
I paid $340 CAD on the Toontrack site
It goes for $240 CAD on Thomann (The CAD comes up on my browser automatically)
It really is an outrageous difference.
I am a newbie, this is my first software.
Boy am I learning!
They should mention this on their site (to check around) otherwise their site is exactly like a trap.
Thanks!
Gary
Who said undercut?
You did.
I never said undercut.
I’m talking approximate parity.
Who said undercutting? No one is talking about undercutting.
A price even remotely in the ball park of the dealers is not undercutting.
Undercutting means LESS than the dealers.
When did I say that?
You could lower your prices by 25% and still be charging WAY more than the dealers.
No one is talking dealer sale prices here.
Your website charged me close to 50% more than the regular going rate at the dealers.
Customer support is not supporting me at all, insisting because I installed already this is a done deal.
We both know this could be fixed with a flick of a button.
I’m just asking for a refund so I can buy it again elsewhere and recoup my $100.
They could do the right thing but they refuse to.
Signed: Just another fish in the sea (according to your company)
Thank you for your thoughtful reply.
We are talking a $100 difference here.
We are talking about gouging 50% more.
I’m just saying how about charging something approaching a similar price as the dealers’ prices.
These are not dealer sale prices I’m talking about here.
No one is talking about undercutting here.
Toontrack could lower their prices by 25% and still be charging WAY more than the dealers.
I am a newbie who didn’t even know software was sold elsewhere.
To me the website is flypaper and a complete rip-off designed to trap newbies like me.
Thanks for your time
That in no way answers why you don’t have the best price on the site or at least approaching it.
Come on man we are talking $100 difference on one item. How do you justify $100?
Please don’t just repeat what you said already.
Thanks!
Hi,
Their answer was I should have shopped around!
So basically “don’t buy directly from us because we will just rip you off.”
Thanks for listening
Shop and find the best deals?? What, after I have already bought everything and spent well over $500??
So now, shop around for what?
You should have the best price because…..well….. YOU MAKE IT!
Why wouldn’t buying direct from you be the cheapest?
Just makes people not want to trust you.
