I have also been adding suggestions to prevent this from happening to newbies and not just complaining.
What good does it do knowing this info after you bought it already?
Especially without a 30 day return policy.
Thanks!
Hey everybody’s entitled to their opinion and that includes me since this IS a forum for us right?
And not a forum for management to tell us what to think. Correct?
I’m just giving you suggestions.
Didn’t hear back from you on L&M or Thomann…?
It’s too late to shop around. That’s my whole point! I bought it already.
You haven’t replied to any of my suggestions:
1) You could be price-matching your dealers.
2) It could be in the contract with the dealers they charge your price.
There is obviously a contract signed by the dealer, correct?
3) How about a bulletin board where we can post the best prices for your product?
4) Even better would be Toontrack creating and managing the board.
Thanks for listening to my suggestions
Please let me know if this is the wrong forum to be adding suggestions
Thanks
Did you check the L&M fact? Over $10 more at TT.
Exactly the same expansions
Thanks
Hey Scott,
Don’t get me wrong. I love your drums and I have nothing against you.
It has always been in my DNA to be annoyed by companies who overprice on their webstores
Thomann is obviously monitoring you.
Every product on your 5 day sale this week went on sale to the day at Thomann as well.
So I bought Americana from Thomann’s sale on Monday which was still cheaper than your sale price lol!
But I am learning this all too late because I already bought
everything I wanted (hence my annoyance with the boys upstairs)
Seems to me the boys upstairs could be monitoring Thomann as well with one click. And one more click to price match.
Please notice I said match not undercut
Just a free tip. Hmmm…maybe I should bundle these tips and sell them!
Sorry about that
Yeah I edited because I had USD and CAD mixed up.
Hard to keep track of that extra 30% we pay on everything!
At any rate Toontrack is still ALWAYS the most $$$.
An expansion RIGHT NOW is $53 USD “on sale” (which is $68 CAD on the credit card) from your webstore.
It is $55 CAD plus 5% sales tax at Canada’s national music store (Long & McQuade)
Check that one if you like!
Cheers!
Merry Xmas!!! To All!!!
PPS
Please realize I LOVE using these drums just to say something positive!
Thanks
PS Telling people this pricing info after they’ve bought it is obviously of no use.
Like I said the banner…Everyone wins.
The dealers are not undercut.
TT gets their money.
Customer is happy.
It’s a great business model.
I charge all my guitar students the same fee.
Thanks
Gary
PPS Does Toontrack do customer surveys after product purchase?
A banner stating that the webstore will be the highest price anywhere on the planet,
sale or no sale, is what I would do if it were my company.
Thanks
Okay,
But not telling people that on your site is deceptive.
Newbies assume the maker would have the best price.
And uber-newbies like me didn’t even know your software was available elsewhere.
That’s the big take-away from this.
You expect people not to be irked by this?
Sorry I see what you’re seeing now.
You have to click off of “box” to see that it’s a sale, very odd it wouldn’t be on both views.
Sorry about that.
But at any rate I think we can all agree the webstore is still not the best price.
An expansion on your sale price of $53 USD ($69 CAD) is $55 CAD regular at my local music store.
Thanks again!
It doesn’t have that on my browser.
But still I can’t imagine the sale is $100 CAD off the regular price which is the difference from what I paid.
Certainly I’m not the first person in history finding out the webstore is not a good idea for customers.
Thanks!
PS
Don’t forget I add 30% to my cost converting CAD to USD
So my ED2 bundle for $259 USD cost me $340.94
Thomann is giving me CAD and Euros right on the site so they
seem to be adjusting in the customer’s favour (ouside the US) regarding USD exchanges.
Sorry I have nothing on that page (accessing from Canada) that says it’s a sale.
A forum member said this has been the regular price for 2 years.
But even aside from this we both know the Toontrack Webstore
is never the best price even during the regular season.
It would be good to reveal on your site that other sellers will have a better price.
Otherwise the web store is just a trap for newbies.
I also found out the national music store in Canada (L&M, kind of like Guitar Center)
also has all the Toontrack stuff cheaper regularly.
I also overpaid on all my EZX’s you see in my account, as well from the Toontrack webstore
compared to any store I can find on the net, sale or no sale.
(except my Americana one which I paid $27 CAD ($18 USD!) 2 days ago on a Thomann sale.
I am just finding all this out now (newbie), the day I bought Americana from Thomann
and feeling very stupid that I ever bought from your webstore.
Thanks
I did not buy from Toontrack on a holiday price.
It was the deal for $259 USD ($359 CAD) on a EZD bundle + 2 expansions of your choice
This same item is regularly priced (not sale), and has been for 2 years at, Thomann for $242 CAD
So I actually paid over $100 more. These are not sale prices we are talking here.
Thanks!
