So if you have a guitar and bass track say, Jamstix will listen to it and come up with a drum track?
I’m not sure about your specific issue Bart but I had no end of problems setting up multi-channel outs as a Track instrument in Cubase.
I now use SD3 as a Rack instrument instead. It’s not quiet as streamlined but once you get it setup properly everything just works and you get better control.
I’m on Windows but I presume it’s the same on Mac.

Thanked by: Bart LeggieroThis drove me mad for ages the solution for me is to load SD3 as a rack instrument .
Put all the track info on a midi track then start adding outputs for each SD3 channel you use.
You can then name them anything you want and apply Cubase inserts, sends and automation seperately to each drum.
Is a slight faff at first but you’ll soon get it.
I normally do all my editing in grid edit in SD3 then just drag and drop it out to the midi track that I created for the rack instrument. I also set all my SD3 channels to unity and control everything from the DAW mixer.
I know people don’t like using rack instruments in cubase but in this instance I think it’s the perfect solution.
As well as explaining the answer to your issue bob, your update there also imparted tons of great info for somebody like me who’s pretty new to SD3 and Drum programming in general. Thank you.
Yeah, I could play it in FabFilter Q3 and look for it there or through Melodyne or Variaudio, it just seems an oversight not to have it displayed in SD3 itself, it would save a bit of faffing.
Okay Scott thanks. It wasn’t something I desperately needed to do, I was just musing on it. I’m keep it installed and keep those kits.
Hi guys, I just wanted to pop in and offer my profuse apologies for the hit and run nature of this thread.
The night I posted this query my partner came down with suspected Covid and was very rough for a couple of weeks, I caught it off her as she was recovering and due to a pre-existing lung condition I was laid low for a further 3 weeks. We have both made a full recovery now but on booting up the studio for the first time in a couple of months I suddenly remembered this thread!
Thanks for all the responses, I think I have sussed it out after a lot of faffing, using a rack instrument in Cubase and setting the multi-outs manually seems the best solution.
If I have any queries about SD3 in the future I promise to respond in a little quicker than 2 months!
Thanks.
Brad
Okay thanks but that doesn’t do anything.
I can select S3/4 S5/6 etc but nothing happens.
In EZ Drummer it opens new tracks but in SD3 it doesn’t, nothing happens.
