There’s a difference between not understanding and trying to stay constructive. Clearly, it’s time to abandon this thread for several reasons.
I wish you happy music making.
Hey all,
OP here. I want to stress again that I wrote this as a question to the community and as a subtle feature request to the Toontrack team if no solution could be found.
Again, for the use case of triggering the sounds are second to none. But it’s a red herring to bring that into this discussion. My question was about grids.
That said, we all love music and it’s a bummer that instead of getting answers some are doing the “insult people on the internet” thing. That wasn’t my intention.
I’d appreciate knowing Toontrack’s stance on this as I still haven’t found a solution that doesn’t feel like a workaround.
cheers,
Frank
Totally understand your use case and the sounds Toontrack make are, in my opinion, second to none. It’s just frustrating. And (and not to harp on about this) when part of the advertising and the reviews used for advertising call it “a DAW for drums” then such things as tuplets (especially for a DAW that exists solely for percussion sounds) should, in my opinion, be factored into development.
In any event, thanks a lot for the dialog. Very much appreciated!

Thanked by: Mark King and JacxinFair enough, but I paid €300 for SD3. The solution should not be “use your DAW” or “buy a DAW like Cubase so you can use the Drum editor”.
I’m trying to be fair as I also work in this industry and know these solutions are not always easy to implement. It does suck that my original post is almost three years old and there hasn’t been a reply, though.
OP here, still no answers and no workaround.
EDIT: I will say this problem doesn’t seem unique to SD. Far from it, actually. Also to be clear.
