I’m using reaper as the daw and it doesn’t matter if I use multi out or out on 1 and 2. It happens in the stand alone program as well as the plugin in the daw. I use the stand alone through the mixer to play my ekit with to practice and play with my band, don’t even use the daw for that but the problem remains. I have one preset I saved where I added a china from the bright room that works fine in both the plugin and the stand alone, but all the settings are the same everywhere. I just got a new computer with 32gb ram, 3TB of nvme hard drive space, i5 processor so I set the latency to 96 or 128 and it doesn’t matter. The software decided it wanted to run 64ms but I thought that might have caused the distortion but it seems to happen at the other settings as well.
This is only happening with the Michael Ilbert studio basic full mic kit, the singer songwriter full mic kits. The small mic kits appear to work ok. I’m glad I saved a preset where all the drums sound right, none of the other room kit presets seem to have the problem, I can’t find a way to reset the software so it works like it did when I first downloaded. Thanks for any info!

for more information, the problem only seems to be happening with the kit in the main room, for some reason. If I change the individual snare for example on that same kit, no matter which one it is it will be quiet and distorted. If I change to the bright or tight room, everything there works as normal. I put a china on one of the cymbals in the main room which was in the bright room, would that cause this?
