Hi,
Yes I can confirm that it has says “C:\Program Files\Steinberg\VstPlugins\Toontrack\Superior Drummer 3.dll” when I check the plugin path.
I also don’t think it can be any other plugin as I’ve been creating songs with almost every other plugin that I commonly use besides SD3 (even including EZDrummer 2) and it has yet to crash once, whereas, as soon as I open SD3 it will crash within minutes.
I’ll try using something other than ASIO and let you know how that goes.
Ok, thank you.
Do you have any suggestions for the C++ Runtime error? As far as I can tell, this is at the root cause of all the crashes in Reaper when using SD3 and I have no idea how to correct it.
Hi,
After about 3 attempts I’ve managed to change the Focusrite settings to work with my interface, so there’s no more issues with sound coming out of the laptop speakers!
I’ve removed the additional path.
It used to be able to load in fully and it would just suddenly crash but now I can’t even get past the VST loading itself in before it crashes. I’ve also been getting a few “C++ Runtime Error” messages and a blue screen of death or two. I’m quite sure that this is caused by SD3 though as no other projects have crashed with any other plugins/VSTs so far.
It doesn’t say anything in the Grooves tab about updates and it has yet to crash when in the standalone version (after being open for about 1-2 hours) whereas in Reaper it takes seconds. Although, in the grooves tab it won’t play a fair few of the grooves as they have a warning symbol in their place. I’m not sure if this is because I don’t have the final bleed library installed or if it’s due to something else. I also haven’t added any midi folders of my own so it can’t be that.
I also don’t have any newer dmp files because it doesn’t even create a dmp file when it crashes anymore, or even an error message. It just shuts down and either goes to the home screen or occasionally to a blue screen of death.
Hi,
It’s a Focusrite – Scarlett 2i2 which does use ASIO and it still outputs through the laptop speakers even when all other applications are closed.
I’ve attached the screenshot below.
Generally, it seems to crash within a minute or two of loading. If I boot up a new file without any VST’s added, it doesn’t crash but any project with SD3 in it will crash within a few minutes. I can usually open up the SD3 window and even get a few sounds out but it’s not long before the error message boots up and both SD3 and Reaper crash.
Hi,
Thanks for the reply! The Standalone version seems to work without crashing although it does seem a bit buggy. For one, it won’t link up to my audio interface and instead outputs through my laptop speakers and when I try and adjust my laptop speakers it makes drum noises and still makes noise even when I have them muted. Furthermore, in the settings it says :E (the SD card that I have Superior Drummer 3 installed on) is not available and that I need to change or remove the path, despite still working fine otherwise. Do you have any idea how I should resolve this?
